Review Time
I have returned to update my review for Tubly Downloader, though in the form of a new review instead. However, I'm providing initial context about my previous review which is now deleted by me, as an important note for any user who cares about verifying a company's integrity before downloading their products.CONTEXT:I initially left a negative review (2 stars) for this product after the extension website failed to inform users of the payments necessary to access certain features. After leaving this review, Tubly flagged my review as defamatory, but after Trustpilot declined it, only then did Tubly actually respond to me. Despite my review being determined to not be against Trustpilot's TOS, Tubly STILL accused me of being an illegitimate, unfair reviewer anyways and I updated my review to 1 star, editing it to call them out on this. They were trying to attack my credibility instead of addressing my criticism. I never received any further responses or even an apology after updating that review to call them out on it.This interaction has tainted my experience with Tubly, since it was an obvious display of complete dismissal and disrespect on Tubly's part towards one of their potential users.CONTEXT OVER! Make of that information what you will, potential supporters of Tubly- I think it speaks wonders. (Since my initial review was flagged, I feel compelled to say now that I have evidence of this interaction I speak of. None of the previous information is defamatory or fabricated.)REVIEW TIME:Hooray! Consider me pleasantly surprised to see that the website now accurately provides payment details on the premium section of the website and addresses feature accessibility appropriately. So they listen to criticism, that's an immediate and unexpected plus. The Premium version of the extension is also very affordable. Another plus. The initial presentation of the website is far cleaner than it was months ago, now that the site is segmented into pages appropriately and makes great use of colours, gradients and shapes to highlight important information where needed. The extension itself (as I did initially credit it for in my Tubly-determined "illegitimate" review) is still a charm to work with. It is easy to install, it downloads videos at the available resolutions with no noticeable dampening on the quality of them and the extension integrates itself into the YouTube interface efficiently. I should also add that the Blog is a cool feature to have on the extension website. It's not only helpful, but it also credits other competitors to this product, which makes this extension look more confident in itself, which is always a good sign.Overall, unlike a few months ago, I can now genuinely say that it is a great product in it's current form, both in its functionality and presentation (the information present being honest and the UI design being aesthetically pleasing to navigate, being sufficiently organised).CONCLUSION:So... Why is this still just a 3 star review then? Simple and obvious probably.I believe that a maker coincides with its product- if one of these is unfavourable, the other is tainted by being beside it. They are two halves of the same coin, or so I'd argue. So along the same lines: The extension (the product) gets a 5 star from me... But my past experience with Tubly themselves (the maker) adds a sparkly 'NEGATIVE 2' to that potential 5 star.My 3 star rating could change if I get any further response from Tubly that expresses apology for their response to my initial review, but I'm not holding my breath on it.So 3 stars it shall remain. Not entirely negative, but not entirely positive either. My experience has become neutral overall. Positive with the product, negative with its makers. That is my up-to-date, *legitimate* and *fair* review of Tubly Downloader, *based on my own experience*.
