I purchased a lifetime license believing I had eliminated monthly fees, but the service has perfected the art of concealed charges. The so-called "included cloud sync" is limited to a mere 10MB. For an application meant to synchronize your entire chat history, agents, and data, this limit is reached almost immediately. Once you surpass that 10MB, you are directed toward a subscription costing $10 per month for just 1GB of storage. This is pricier than most complete AI subscriptions and feels like blatant exploitation after already investing in a "lifetime" product. Additionally, the alternative sync methods (Google Drive, S3, or local sync) are inconsistent on certain browsers and devices. Sync buttons frequently vanish, and data often fails to transfer between devices. It seems these features are deliberately left flawed to drive you towards their costly cloud service. Don't be misled: the lifetime license is merely a facade. If you genuinely wish to use the app across various devices without regular frustrations, you'll find yourself paying monthly regardless. A complete scam and an enormous letdown.
It’s getting better! Still wish it was a bit more native in the experience but the sync is much improved. I do find myself going to Kagi Assist for quick questions because it’s faster, but for more comprehensive conversations TypingMind is my buddy.
