if you cant afford to have your credit card payments tied up for days, Do not use Square. They froze my account today and say they won't even contact me to resolve the issue for at least 24 hours. This is unacceptable. I understand that with all the credit card fraud these days, credit card processors need to take precaution. When an account is flagged, they need to contact the customer immediatly to resolve the issue, not a day or two later. while witholding their payments. Square is not a viable option for small business. Understand that my complaint is not that they sometimes need adddtional information, but how long they take to request it. It is unaccepatble to withhold funds for days before even letting you kow why or what is needed.
A terrible company that does not respect small businesses! My name is Jennifer, and I reside in St. Lawrence County, NY. I work in web development and other IT-related fields. I started with SquareUp on April 7th, and since then, I've managed to process about 10 cash payments and three credit card payments. Let me say this was the worst experience ever—the company has no clue what it's doing. After every payment, they bombarded me with more questions than a judge on judgment day. Every payment I accepted was confirmed through verification over and over again, until the day I received a payment of $1,899.99, for which SquareUp asked me to go through an identity verification. I completed their program, my documents were accepted without finding anything incorrect, and then they sent me a new verification concerning the payment! Are you kidding me? I asked myself why I had to answer the same questions every time I received a credit card payment. I thought that I would answer the questions one last time, and if it happened again, I would part ways with SquareUp. But no, SquareUp, a gang of fraudsters, deactivated my account! They BLOCKED MY FUNDS. I regret so deeply that I got involved with this product. I spent days waiting for payment processing but received long lists of questions every time I received a payment, and now again, the same questions WHICH I HAD ALREADY ANSWERED AND RECEIVED A POSITIVE RESPONSE!!!! THE QUESTIONS WERE EXACTLY THE SAME, BUT THIS TIME THEY JUST DECIDED TO SEND ME AWAY 😕.What do I now have after dealing with these fraudsters from SquareUp?- Fully disclosed information about my clients, including photos, data, and contracts.- A bunch of SquareUp subscriptions and accounts from savings to checking that I can't close because I don't even know how to contact them. It's impossible to get through to them on the phone.$1,899 blocked, which I am trying to return to the client, but they still want to charge me a commission for processing the refund! Why should they, if they themselves blocked me after three verifications that were satisfactory using SquareUp, and then simply decided to steal my money on the fourth?!Wasted time!
Overall the SQUARE suite is excellent. I would almost say 5-STARS if they can add a few features. They did add some things from recommendations several months ago. They now have custom contracts you can automatically send upon scheduling, waitlist, and other features that have made the difference for us to switch over from more expensive scheduling systems. The great thing is we now have everything in one system, including the check out.
