Review Time
I've been with Vanquis for many years now. Customer services are aways helpful and caring. Their fraud detection and resolutions are beyond compare. Fabulous company, I would recommend to everyone.
They are providing the worst customer service possible. I made a money transfer in the beginning of December 2025, it didn’t go through but it is still on my balance. I have called numerous times without receiving an update until I raised a formal complaint for which I have received a Final Response Letter that said that the funds will be reversed in my account on 16th January 2026 as the funds were recalled with the bank from 12th December. It is now 16th February and they are apparently still waiting for a response from the bank. I seriously doubt much was done to solve this despite calling numerous times it is now over 2 months of calling without any actual progress, this has been by far my worse experience with a financial services provider. I never would have thought that a UK credit card company could have such awful standards they simply do not care about the customer, they continuously lie - one customer service agent said that the funds were recalled on the 2nd February despite the letter saying that this happened in December. I am thinking about raising a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman service.
The process of applying for the card was very quick and straightforward, and I received a response in a short time. The explanations regarding terms and payments were clear and there was no confusion.
The app is very simple and user-friendly, allowing me to easily track transactions, balances, and payment dates. Timely notifications also help me avoid missing any payments.
Customer service is professional and responsive, and I feel that the company genuinely cares about its customers.
Recently joined Vanquis for the 0% balance transfer offer. Easy application and process and the app is very user friendly. The only downside in my opinion is that you can’t transfer multiple card balances at the same time as I was able to do with other companies. You have to apply for one transfer, wait 3-4 days for it to be processed before you can transfer another. I do really like that you can see how much the minimum payment will be for each transfer - this helps to manage the debt and be aware of how much you’ll have to pay - great idea.
Had the card for a couple of years now - and honestly its a life saver. Yeah, the APR is a bit high, but i fully understand the risks to lending to people on Welfare lol.
Thanks for pre-approving my latest credit increase, much appreciated.
Thank you. Roger Robinson
Your new App is a vast improvement as well. I will hopefully have many more years doing business with you.
Extremely disappointing! It's clear they are aware I don't have a smartphone, making it impossible for me to access my account. Yet, they continue to withdraw £76.00 from my bank account every month! I owed them £1500 five years ago and have been paying £70.00 monthly since then. This feels like a complete scam! I strongly recommend staying away!
I have been attempting to recover financially after a motorbike accident earlier this year, but the situation keeps worsening. Despite making regular payments on my card, the interest rates seem to be climbing. In the past three months, I have accrued £280 in interest—almost £100 each month. This is outrageous; it's impossible to pay off my balance with such high interest. As a result, my card has exceeded its limit, and now the company is threatening to default my account, which would severely damage my credit score for years to come! I continue to make payments whenever possible, but these interest rates only push me deeper into debt. I want to pay this off quickly and close my account. There are many other lenders out there who actually provide support! I've been contacted 2 to 3 times daily by the company, even after explaining my situation to them. I strongly recommend avoiding this service; it's better to get a credit card from your own bank!
The worst experience from any company ever for trying to transfer an ISA using their online form!
First you enter your correct personal details, but that's no good as later on when you enter your nominated bank account details, they are often different with the bank account having initials and surname, so they don't match the personal info on the ISA application - so then they can't match this up. You then go back in case you've missed something and of course, no, you have to enter First, Middle and Surname. Well of course this is not going to the same as the initials used on a bank account -how idiotic.
Next you can't proceed without actually opening a separate document for each part of their T&Cs - but on the next page this repeats with the same documents again so that's 5 additional browser windows you have to open before you can proceed!
Next - You are asked where the funds for the ISA are coming from - and the next idiotic thing is guess what? - There are NO options for the most common income source for an ISA - Transferring from an existing ISA! There are no exact options and an online search says you should not choose maturity or sales from investments - so that leaves no other option! Whoever put that form together needs to go back to 'common sense school' or get a job as a traffic warden.
Gave up, cancelled the whole transfer and will be taking our investment elsewhere. That's the only way these stupid companies will employ people with an ounce of common sense.
Update Post Vanquis Reply: I think somebody needs to rethink the whole form design it is utterly awful and not user friendly - and I've been in ICT for 40 years! We have now placed our not insignificant investment with Virgin Money today and the whole application form, account opening AND ISA transfer process was completed in less than 10 minutes!
