Horrible service with this company. STAY AWAY. I have made a mistake in my email while booking a property. Had to fight with them and call them 5 times to get a confirmation of my reservation in my actual email. I will not do business with them again. Makes the experience of planning a trip stressful.
i booked via expedia. The contract was cancellation allowed. i tried cancellation. but failed repeated when using expedia help. they gave me number to call ITALY to cancel the booking. this is so stupid. it is not my job to call them. it is their obligation. dont use this. keep to air BNB. - never failed me
Cannot cancel a reservation even tho well within the time limit. The site has the reservation under my trips but when I try to cancel, they say there is no record of my trip. I am going to call AmEx and get them to block the charge since I called VRBO customer no-service and the phone line just clicks off and says the system is down. So frustrating and a waste of time..
I found a bed bug on the bed, shared a photo and not much was done about it. I reported to the host and vrbo.
Due to the fact I and my guest had to take precautions and we will wait to see if we transported them back to our homes, I think a partial refund would have been fair. Vrbo only offered $50 credit for next stay.
This is the first time I tried vrbo and I do not recommend them. Bed bugs are a serious issue and they did not seem concerned or apologetic to the issue.
5 Calls and more than 3-hours on the phone -- still no resolve from VRBO. A host charged me for payment processing fees when I cancelled in less than 24-hours with a 100%. VRBO only sends the host an email. The host should be BLOCKED from using the platform until they resolve the issue. Every time I call it's "Groundhog Day." VRBO is fine - IF you don't have any issues. I haven't had issues like this with Air BnB!!!
Seems hosts can just cancel for any reason and any time. You go through a lot of time and effort to book the right place, prepay, and then just have it cancelled. I won't use VRBO again.
Utterly useless. Difficult site to navigate, endless popups for unwanted features like "OneKeyCash" or their app (I'm on a desktop computer, why would I want the app?!). Eventually managed to place a booking for the place we wanted. Payment details entered but no payment taken. Fortunately host contacted us and we made payment direct with them. Vrbo's "help" an endless loop of useless chatbots. Eventually when a "human" is engaged they don't help and then the chat disappears. A few days before the stay recieved a late-night email from Vrbo saying we had requested to cancel and would only get a 5% refund. We hadn't. Now there is no trip showing and the chatbot won't help or won't connect an agent. Criminally bad, as tens of thousands of others have experienced. A score of 1/5 seems too high.
Requested a reservation. Host has 24 hrs to respond or they cancel the request. Cancelled, requested again, cancelled, requested again, etc. If the host never responds and they keep cancelling the request, you could be in that loop forever, and how responsive will the host be if you actually get the place and there's a problem?
Avoid VRBO!!
I wrote an earlier review: I accidentally clicked a link to reserve Yaro Stellar Mosaic 2 bdrm/2 bath in Austin, TX for $2176.15. I immediately called VRBO and within 6 minutes of my reservation click, I canceled. HOWEVER, VRBO or Yaro Stellar (hard to know which) kept $1328.64.
Here's an update: After my review here on Trustpilot, I received a note from VRBO saying they would refund my money. Guess what? They did not. No surprises there. They are liars and this is fraud.

No refund. So it's back to the Attorney General's office, the Better Business Bureau, and as many SM sits as possible to report them and caution others.
This booking is for June it is fully refundable vrbo is unable to find this booking. When I go on vrbo website I am unable to cancel it. They have taken my money I am a retired veteran who is 100 percent disabled with 5 children and i have been communicating with vrbo for 2 weeks over this booking. Vrbo cannot find my booking to cancel it they keep telling me it is in their billing department or in their technical department and have transferred me to various supervisors over the past 2 weeks who leave me on hold for hours when on their website it says my booking is fully refundable. Literally vrbo has stolen 1633 dollars from a honorable retired 💯 disabled military veteran and doesn't care.
