I first heard about this innovative service from a friend while vacationing in Britain, and initially thought it was just an interesting concept. However, three days later, my family and I found ourselves lost on an unmarked mountain trail due to a GPS error and a flat tire. The rescue team assisted us in downloading the service, and it became the sole way they could find us.
Since what3words launched, I promoted its use as the head of a safety group, and it was well-received, enhancing safety for many lone workers. However, now they are introducing a subscription fee to access its full features. Be cautious, as subscription-based services often face financial challenges; I advise against subscribing.

It provides accuracy to within 12 feet after calibration. However, its usefulness is limited since the other person must also have the app to interact with it. I can search for an address but cannot communicate with the address owner through the app; I still need to use WhatsApp or email to share the what3words location. Better profile integration would help.
This tool is fantastic for finding remote locations and meeting friends at beaches and in the countryside. When our granddaughter got lost in a city and couldn't explain her location, she used what3words, and her mum found her immediately. It's an amazing tool for my long hikes and bike rides, giving me peace of mind in emergencies.

what3words is a global grid of 57 trillion 3mx3m squares.
Each square has a 3 word address that can be communicated quickly, easily and with no ambiguity.
Our geocoder turns geographic coordinates into these 3 word addresses and vice-versa.
Using words means non-technical people can accurately find any location and communicate it more quickly, more easily and with less ambiguity than any other system like street addresses, postcodes, latitude & longitude or mobile short-links.See more
