Do not work with this company under any circumstances. They block your money and lock the system at the most unexpected times and in the most unexpected situations. I transferred money from my personal account to my company account, but I cannot access my money. I had payments from my company account, and they all incurred penalties. Do not trust them and stay away from this company.
Over all having WISE is a blessing however, I'm currently in India and fast discovered that the max £200 month limit is woefully low if you're staying longer than 2 weeks and Coastal businesses want cash - not card and when they take card they want to charge around 3.5% on top.
I love the availability of being able to pay via india's UPI , but many businesses use a QR CODE , meanwhile iphones or browsers doesn't give you the option of the use of the WiSE app when faced with a UPI QR code, and the WISE app doesn't have the functionality of scanning a UPI QR Code from the UPI option either , so you're expected to type out the business's UPI code :-/
The ability to import a QRCode seems to only exist if I open my own payme profile? and I'm not convinced it would work that way either.
FUN FACT: KFC Varkala uses UPI QR Codes
Reply: I never said anything about WISE being a UPI wallet, WISE DOES Allow me to pay someone or a business via UPI ... the annoying BS make no sense part is the insistence of an invoice number. It's stupid because typically an invoice numyis issued aftrr payment and the payment can't happen until an invoice number is provided.
If upi payment isn't going to be easy to use from the WISE app - maybe it shouldn't br there?
Canadians be aware of this company, it's not a 'bank'!!! It's probably the only 'bank' which is not regulated by any federal and provincial regulators in Canada.
In fact, if something went wrong, you would have no place to complain.
Your SWIFT transfer from other banks could go detered, even be missing for quite long time, and lose fees even recoved, as it's not a direct member in the SWIFT system because it's not a bank. They will not help you if something occurs...
I have used Wise for many years, initially as transferwise. Having never been disappointed with any aspect of their services both domestic and international using a number of currencies over the years. To pay reasonable interest rates as they do daily on my UK deposit is a welcome bonus.
I would have given a -1 if possible. I got paid thru Wize on an internation wire. at 7:54pm Wise sent me an email asking for proof of business name. before I could even follow up to the email they canceled a wire that took 4 days to arrive. Money I needed immediately.
making it worse, all the data was correct. now I need to wait up to 10 days for the money to return to the sender so they can pay me again.
their message: I apologize for the inconvenience it caused.
tried to close my account but need to wait for the wire that should not be canceled to cancel. They lost one client with 20k+ transactions, which is nothing, and I hope they lose more with my review.
I’ve been using Wise for several years now, and my experience has been consistently excellent. Transfers are fast, transparent, and the fees are significantly lower compared to traditional banks.
What I appreciate the most is the clear exchange rate with no hidden charges. The app is intuitive, reliable, and easy to manage for international payments.
Wise has made handling multiple currencies simple and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone who works or operates internationally.
watch out when trying to open an account with this company as they can close your account for no reason
dont get cought of there nice "looking" answer to the review as thats what i have heard from many people what had the same experiance with wise
just dont start with them it will be much easier for you!
there is no one who you can speak with
they will ask you loads and loads of information and then after all you will have NO account by them
WATCH OUT you will normaly get so disapointed
i have heard from many of my friends they got the same experiance try other comapanies like revoulut and so on but forget from WISE this will just be headach for you
"I am beyond frustrated with Wise. I’ve spent the last 6–7 days trying to open an account, and it has been a total nightmare. Even though only one document was initially required, their team kept moving the goalposts.
I completed the video verification and bank verification, yet for every single step, they demanded at least two 'alternative' documents. I provided everything they asked for, but the support is non-existent. They only reply when I manually follow up; otherwise, they don't bother to help at all.
After a week of being dragged along, I am officially withdrawing my application. Their onboarding process is broken, and their customer service is a joke. Avoid this platform if you value your time."
Wise, for some unknown reason, was not able to deliver the money i sent out, giving me a reason that does not make sense. But the problem is that they cancelled the transfer but never gave me back my money. If this happens even to just 1 % of their customers, they will earn a lot of money, and this is unacceptable. You received the money in real time from my Bank, but after a failed attempt to transfer out because of registration issue (the money is still with Wise), you are now taking forever to return the money to my Bank, and you are making excuses for it? This is almost a robbery, even if this only happens once in every 1000 customer because you still hold the money, and not someone else !
I was a victim of fraud during an in-person sale.
The buyer showed me screenshots of transfers allegedly made through Wise.
After checking with my bank, no transfer had actually been initiated or received.
It appears very easy to present a screenshot of a transaction as proof of payment, which can create a false sense of security during private sales.
I regret that there is no reliable real-time verification system allowing a recipient to confirm whether a transfer has truly been processed before handing over goods.
This experience highlights the importance of never releasing an item without the funds being fully credited to your bank account.
