Review Time
Delivery takes a while and I had to send several emails to see where it was. This is second delivery and second time I had to email to see where my order is. It's a shame as the coffee is very nice. I also received a black cup which is good quality and 10% off next order so they are trying to rectify things.
Love the concept, but have had a poor experience overall which is frustrating and disappointing. Ordered lots of chocolate for Christmas gifts, and some was sold as one thing when the ingredients label on the product when it arrived, said another. Specifically, I was sent a very cheap product with 46% sugar (and less than 10% cocoa) and not the 46% cocoa advertised. Making it poor value for money for a cheap product, and potentially dangerously missold - when low sugar was selected specifically for dietary reqs.
Customer service was initially polite but reluctant to refund until I pointed out the law. (was happy to send back the wrong items but that option was declined). Ingredients lists really do need to be posted clearly online, so that it's transparent what is being ordered and the customer can be sure that ingredients are appropriate.
I gave them a second go a couple of weeks ago for some valentines chocs, and really disappointingly had the same issue: What was sold as a product with a high percentage of cocoa content was in fact something with a high percentage of sugar. There was thankfully no quibble with a refund his second time, but clearly the company hasn't applied any measure of respect for customers since the first time this happened - hence my review. Because it's important to get right.
I don't want to think Wonky are working on the assumption that most customers simply won't notice the miss selling, so they can get away with charging premium prices for inferior products ((I can buy 100gm of high cocoa content choco for less than 90p in most supermarkets so why would anyone pay £2.50 for a vastly poorer product full of sugar and with barely any cocoa??)) .... But the evidence isn't giving many other explanations. Come on people - we want you to be successful by being Better!
It's truly commendable that there is an organization dedicated to reducing food waste, particularly chocolate. It's heartbreaking to witness food being wasted while many people are in need. Continue the fantastic work!
Stick to the chocolate, skip the coffee. As always, the quality was excellent and all the recipients appreciated their gifts. I was slightly let down that I selected peanut butter chocolates for my free gifts twice but only received dark chocolates. I'm grateful for the free option, but it would be better if they didn’t offer choices that can’t be fulfilled.
This was my first experience ordering from a certain coffee seller, and I ended up receiving chocolates instead of coffee. I selected the Belgium Seashells along with a mixed box of chocolates. They were delivered promptly and in great condition. The seashells appeared like they should have been in a box, and there was nothing wrong with them. As for the mixed selection, I would have preferred fewer coffee pieces, but I understand that's beyond the ordering options. Overall, the chocolates were delightful.
I purchased a few bags to test out, believing they would be excellent Christmas presents. After trying one, my husband became hooked! We’re now on our second and third bags since they vary in flavors and taste amazing. I now have to get more for the friends whose chocolate was accidentally devoured!
Our family adores this service. Receiving a range of compatible coffee capsules every month keeps our caffeine cravings in check and adds some variety. The deliveries and communication are consistently reliable, and the value is excellent.
The coffee pods are excellent, but the chocolate selection is quite lacking! The mix I received was predominantly Peanut Butter Cups, totaling around 800g. I had already ordered a separate bag of these, resulting in 1.8kg of them. This mix does not meet the expectations set by the Corner Shop Favourites! I received a £2.40 refund as compensation for the letdown, which feels rather insufficient. Additionally, the delivery took almost 4 weeks to arrive. If only their chocolate matched the quality of their coffee.
