Outstanding service throughout! We recently moved homes and engaged a firm for the conveyancing process of our sale and purchase. 'Engaged' is definitely the right term, as all the staff assisted us thoroughly. Our situation was not straightforward since we needed to buy quickly and secure a bridging loan, which added complexity with another company involved and communication challenges. I initially sought guidance from a partner regarding the process. Based on prior experiences and recommendations from agents, choosing this firm was clear. Throughout, our inquiries were addressed promptly and the service felt very personal. The pricing seemed almost too good to be true, especially given the sometimes misleading reputation solicitors have for their fees. Complications arose when our sale chain collapsed, requiring additional efforts on our part. The reception staff were always accommodating, and the solicitors handling contracts were detailed, efficient, and approachable. I would highly recommend their services. I am deeply dissatisfied with this firm of solicitors. They represented the buyer of my flat and persistently posed ridiculous questions that were completely unnecessary throughout the process. At the last moment, they insisted I deposit £500.00 with them in case of any lingering costs related to the service charge. We highlighted that the landlords had just refunded an overpayment! They drafted a rider stating that it would be fully refunded with interest before a year if no outstanding bills existed. Now it's been over five months past that year mark, and I still haven’t received the refund. They won’t even communicate with my lawyer. I have had to escalate this to the Ombudsman.
We reached out to inquire about becoming conveyancing clients. The receptionist assured us that someone would return our call. However, 24 hours later, we still hadn't heard back. This reflects poor customer service; if this is their standard now, I can't imagine what it would be like during the conveyancing process. We decided to go with another local firm that seems eager to take on clients.
Extremely poor conveyancing service. As a landlord familiar with buying and selling properties, I found this team to be not just slow, but painfully slow in handling my property sale. They displayed a lack of cooperation and interest, seemingly content to prolong a very stressful experience. My property sale, which typically completes in 6 to 8 weeks, took them 16 weeks, despite the buyers constantly trying to push for progress. They had all necessary paperwork by mid-December but ensured the sale dragged into the New Year. One star is far too generous; if I could rate them lower, I would.
This is a delayed review, but I was recently reminded of how challenging our conveyancing experience was, which occurred towards the end of Covid. I hope they have made improvements since then. The trainee conveyancer appeared to lack appropriate guidance and support during my case, which involved a gifted deposit, leading to significant delays that I had to personally address with the head of conveyancing to expedite. It was also quite perplexing trying to convey that I needed to purchase a house regardless of my Covid exposure risk. My recommendation is to avoid this firm if your case has complexities or if you want to avoid unnecessary stress.
This is the second time we have engaged with a specific representative. Throughout the entire buying and selling process, the team was highly efficient, proactive in following up on progress, and quick to communicate. They were also sensitive to how significant this was for us. Thank you very much.
Highly commendable service. The solicitors were very attentive and proactive during our house purchase, addressing our questions swiftly. They utilized a real-time tracking app, which provided us with regular updates on our progress throughout the process.
Excellent service from the beginning. The process was made much easier through the use of online forms for signatures.
