I've spent alot of money on fish from here and they just keep dying. some of the fish for sale are to small I'd say and they are selling them. each time I go for fish its costing me at least £40 so to see them dying in my tank is not good. I've now lost 10 fish within 2 weeks.
Have planters card which offers 10% off on a Tuesday checked on the Internet still says Tuesday no signs in the store saying you had changed it to Wednesday went today Tuesday rude assistant insisting there was nothing they could do no one else in authority to speak to very disappointed
Went for a birthday cream tea on Sunday. Table was booked and we saw a reserved table so sat there and waited… and waited. We had booked for 1. Eventually I went to the counter where there was a long long queue to let them know we were there. I also purchased food for non cream tea people in my party, one was a ham cob and cake. I kid you not, the girl carried the cling film wrap ham roll to the table and placed it on the table without a plate!! We ordered coffee and the cream tea was bought for us. It was a lovely choice of sandwiches, cakes etc. but the service was non existent, no one came to check we were happy with the tea or needed more drinks after the one coffee. I was spending around £80 with everything bought, so I would have expected better customer service. It seemed no one was allocated to serve us, very disorganized, and we were very disappointed. A Shame because the tea was lovely, but I had assumed we would have been served better.
The reason for my 1 star rating is because of the fact that in the new coffee lounge, there are no prices displayed on the cakes. When I asked why, the lady behind the till told me that it’s because that’s how they run the business and they do not want customers to know the prices of the cakes until they are paying so it doesn’t put them off. When I mentioned how unfair this is for those who are on a budget, she shrugged her shoulders and said it’s not her decision. Which I understand, however it needs to be taken into account. There were some people in there, not asking the prices and just buying what they liked but I find this to be very excluding for those who do need to watch their pennies. Those who like myself work very hard but due to the cost of living, the price of a cake does need to be considered before being at the til and purchasing and I’d rather do this at my own leisure whilst queuing, instead of facing the humiliation of having to ask until I can find one which is within my budget.I don’t think it’s fair to exclude customers who have been supporting the garden centre for decades and spending what they can, by not showing the prices and making what should be a happy experience a humiliating one. Prices should always be shown, so the customer can make their own decisions in their own time.
I recently histed my sisters 60th birthday afternion tea in the restaurant at Brookfields and was really pleased with the quality of the food and there was plenty of it they provided for several dietry needs and request nothing was too much trouble from booking through to service on the day.I would happily recommend this facility if you have a garden centre lover amongst your fsmily and friends its definatly a winner
