After DPD did not deliver the package containing my extra house keys, they advised I contact Yale, so Yale could chase the package. Thus I contacted Yale and the customer service was excellent.It transpired that DPD had lost the package. After discussing with Yale, they agreed to provide a replacement lock and additional keys immediately to minimise any security risk.
I cannot praise Yale enough in particular Cameron and Sean who assisted my through the process. I was also impressed how easy it was to speak to these guys and they went the extra mile to resolves DPDs fault.
I am extremely disappointed with Yale’s handling of a premature product failure.
I purchased a Yale YSM/520/EG1 electronic safe in 2021. It has been used only a handful of times and has always been kept indoors. Despite this, the electronic keypad failed completely — no response at all, even with brand-new batteries.
Yale’s response was to say the product is out of the 2-year warranty and that there is “no fix”, despite the fact that the electronic keypad/control unit is a modular, replaceable component and the safe itself remains mechanically functional. Instead of offering a repair, replacement part, or meaningful goodwill solution, I was offered a 20% discount code to buy another Yale safe — effectively asking me to spend over £200 again after their product failed prematurely.
I expected far better durability from a domestic safe and much better customer support from a brand like Yale. This experience has completely undermined my confidence in both the product quality and after-sales support.
I would not recommend Yale electronic safes based on this experience.
I placed an order on November 23rd, with a promised delivery time of 3–5 working days. Two weeks later, without any updates, I reached out to customer service to inform them that we would not be able to receive the parcel due to our travel plans. I was assured this would not be a problem, that the parcel would be sent back to the sender, and that I would receive a refund. A month has passed, and I have yet to receive my refund, any emails, or communication from the company. I have since sent another email and am awaiting a response, but if this issue is not resolved soon, I will have to consider further action.

The representative informed me that the lead time was 12 weeks, but I expressed my desire to receive it sooner. We exchanged several emails, and the representative assured me he would attempt to expedite the process. On December 5th, he informed me that it was being dispatched that day via a courier service, just under 2.5 weeks after my initial request. Amazing! Not only did he surpass my expectations, but his communication, courtesy, and assistance throughout were exceptional. I hope that by acknowledging his great work, his efforts will be recognized – he truly deserves it. Thank you!

I purchased a home safe a week ago. Since we have two adult children, we needed two extra safe keys. Due to safety regulations, we provided several documents, including proof of purchase and photos of the safe and its serial number. It sounds like a lot, but it’s all about safety. I paid £25 for the two extra keys, which I found very reasonable. They were posted and arrived within two days. Many thanks to the representative for the quick response!
