It's a scam!! First, you pay $199 to set up an LLC and a registering agent. This is already a scam (the cost is $49), but it's acceptable because they set up the company for you (supposedly for free). After a year, you receive a $399 bill. The fees are for the worry-free service, which you never ordered and can't cancel anywhere on their website, and for registering agent again $199. If you want to change your registering agent, you have to pay around $170, meaning you're locked into them unless you pay $399 plus , $170 for the new company for the transfer registering agent, and $49 for the new company as registering agent (real cost). This is how Zenbussines makes money, and it should be banned. They should be punished for it! It's a scam.
Beware, they make it impossible to cancel your account. I've been with ZenBusiness for three years, but recently sold my business and needed to cancel my account.
There is no way to cancel except for sending them an email or through live chat message. There's not even a number to call and cancel to talk to someone. It was close to the renewal date, but it took me an extremely long time to reach a live chat agent. When I explained the situation and I needed to cancel immediately, the agent said that they couldn't do that and someone on the Account Management team would reach out to me in 1-2 business days. I was very clear I did not want my card charged or for my account to renew.
Two days later, they charged my card $400 for renewal and I still have not heard from the Account Management team about cancelling my account. This is truly unbelievable and there are many other websites that offer a similar service, so I would never recommend them to anyone after this experience.
Emailed to cancel subscription service on the 16th because I dissolved my business. Instead of canceling upon request just received a notification from my bank they still charged for service that is no longer required and needed.
They charged for Worry fee compliance subscription, but they never took care of the services. It is a rip off.
There is way to cancel the services online or in my account. Also they do not honor the cancellation even if after contacted the support,
I purchased a business from someone who originally filed with Zen Business. We originally filed to ammend the LLC for the change in ownership and account transfer in December 2025. We are nearing March 2026 and absolutely nothing has changed for the acccount. This process with them has been an absolute nightmare and I will be switching away from their company as soon as things are switched over. Make the best use of your time and money and file with literally anyone else (Northwest Registered Agent is a great option!)
Don't sign up with them. I've been a paying customer for five years. Now that I am closing down my business, they refuse to cancel my subscription. I've sent two emails and talked to a customer service rep who would not put me through to a person they said could cancel. They also have no option to cancel online. Please whatever you do, do not sign up with them. You will regret it if you ever need to make any changes.
I have used ZenBusiness to create several LLCs. but in this review I want to shout-out their customer service and Tony specifically, who helped me. We had a last minute trademark issue with a name that we had chosen for a new company. Tony was able to stop the process and insert our new name before the file was sent to the state. Way to go Tony!
Terrible service, it takes days to get someone on the line to help on the matter you need. Rude customer service which agrue with you even when there fault. go somewhere that's better
I strongly recommend that anyone looking to start an LLC seek the assistance of a qualified professional (CPA or attorney) rather than using this service. I terminated my agreement with them as my registered agent, yet they continue to insist that I will incur further charges. This is not an error; it's the way their system operates. You believe you’ve canceled, you think it's over, but then the notifications keep arriving: “You will be charged again.” Their entire business model relies on: • Unnecessary upsells
• Recurring subscriptions that are difficult to cancel
• Confusing interfaces
• Billing for services you no longer require or want If you’re not vigilant, they will keep charging your card, and you’ll find yourself spending more time disputing charges than you would have spent hiring a true professional from the outset. This service is not a legitimate legal solution; it’s a subscription trap disguised with appealing branding. If you value your time, peace of mind, or finances, avoid this service. Consult a real CPA or attorney to get it right the first time, without the hassle of ongoing billing issues. This has been a frustrating and time-consuming ordeal, and I would definitely not choose this service again.
Unsatisfactory customer support. One day, for no apparent reason, the two-factor authentication stopped functioning and I didn't receive a text. The initial representative I spoke with, who later turned out to be unhelpful, claimed he disabled the two-factor authentication and suggested I try again, which ultimately resulted in me being locked out of my account. What should have taken just two minutes ended up taking two hours, and I am still locked out. I'm frustrated. Their tools are cumbersome, and the entire system feels poorly constructed. I recommend shopping locally instead of relying on these large national brands; they are disappointing.
