After 33 years as a member, I must express my disappointment. Many machines are out of order for months, and there are insufficient weights available for group classes. The management's refusal to address these issues, combined with the poor state of cleanliness, is disheartening.
After being a member for 33 years, I can confidently say that this is the worst I've ever seen it. Many machines are broken and have been for an extended period. In group exercise classes, there are not enough weights for everyone, and management refuses to acquire more, leading to issues with people hoarding weights. The cleanliness of the floors, mirrors, and restrooms is unacceptable.
I signed up for a one-year membership at a local gym, but after getting sick shortly after starting, I decided to stop going. During my time there, I never saw anyone cleaning the equipment, which made me uneasy about hygiene. Recently, I found that my account was charged for the next year without proper notification. When I inquired, the staff gave me a rehearsed explanation and dismissed my concerns. The lack of proper customer service has left me disappointed, and I will be sharing my experience with others.
There are significant concerns regarding cleanliness and maintenance across multiple reviews. Many gyms are described as filthy, with dirty floors and malfunctioning equipment. Complaints include broken facilities and unsanitary conditions, along with reports of theft and a lack of accountability for service issues. The recent news about the company seeking bankruptcy raises further doubts about joining.
As a member for three years, I’ve noticed that classes are often overcrowded. Recently, I went to a spin class only to find the room closed for a new program. The rearrangement has caused significant inconvenience, and when I raised my concerns, I was told it was a corporate decision and they were not interested in feedback.
I'm sharing this review to see if anyone else has faced a similar issue. I've been a member at a smaller gym for about 13 years. Recently, my insurance began covering my membership, but I was charged twice in one month. When I spoke to the manager, he only offered to refund half of the overcharge, which seems unreasonable to me. I'm considering escalating this issue, as I believe this reflects poor customer service practices.
