I found the platform to be easy to follow and was very comprehensive. It was so comprehensive that I found it to be time consuming and cumbersome to complete. I didn't realize how much so until I attempted to get the forms notarized to file with my county. They would not notarize them without a case number. I couldn't get a case number without filing. I called the county and learned that their own forms, which were downloadable on the county website were much simpler and did not require notary, only signatures. Shame on me for not checking there first. I could have saved myself $300 and a lot of time by starting out calling my county courthouse! I imagine though that with counties that are not as user friendly as mine this would be a very beneficial program.
I think that if you have already had a divorce in your past, then this might be a good option for you but if you are an average person with no lawful background then this is not as easy a process as described. I think its a good thought but there should really be a worker assigned to each profile made on the sight to help them through the process.
Sure they give you all the forms but they take the absolute bare minimum information. They leave you to fend for yourself on the harder parts but give you information sheets. All of these forms can be found on your county information website. What they provide is basically holding the pen while you spell your name. Avoid and just print your own forms. They don’t actually help with anything of substance.
The interface is terrible as the questions provide no context and there isn’t a reasonable way to go back to previous to revise once context is revealed. Upon completion, the templates have typos and are generally incorrect. Very unsatisfied!
I have to say, everything was pretty much laid out in a simple process. The one part that was difficult was in changing the county to file in but, after sending an email message, that too was fixed expediently. Good thing, too, since learning something else about the county I’m able to file in also requires residency for a period of time. Now, I need to reprint everything and change the county again. Oh well, all part of the learning curve. Thank you
