I've been in a lot of airports, but this is the best. By far.
Beautiful seating area whilst waiting to board. Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely staff. Wonderful (clean) toilets.
Understand that having no drinking fountain is maybe an issue in Scandinavia... but come on! Compared to other airports, this place is a dream.

Absolutely lovely clean waiting areas and toilets. Food expensive but it always is at airports…. The real let down is being stood in a tent when the weather app shows it feels like -15!! Totally wrong and unnecessary when multiple other gates are not in use. Staff stood shivering, elderly passengers with the cold running off their nose. Really unacceptable and been going on too long.
Nice airport but the fact that there is no facility to fill a simple water bottle is pretty bad. After asking staff if there was a tap we could use I was directed to the toilets which is not a hygienic solution. The kiosk assistant told me she had been told that she wasn’t allowed to fill water bottles for people and it was airport policy, another staff member has filled my water bottle on a previous visit so I guess it’s down to who is working. Very disappointed with this treatment. I suppose they want you to spend your money on water after asking you to empty your water bottle at security.
Fantastic little airport that allows you to get in and out in less than 10 minutes! The inside is never crowded, the food is over priced but that’s everywhere in airports. Maybe the only small draw back is that it would be about time to invest in CT scanners to avoid having to remove laptops and liquids at the security, and finally build a gate 4 rather than using a garden tent 🤣, still this is part of your charm Aarhus airport.
My first experience with Aarhus Airport was incredible - amazing staff and very fast. However, my most recent experience… I have never experienced anything like this. Usually for medications, I am not asked to remove them from the carry on. Security claimed I was hiding liquids and gels - I responded that they are medications. She then removed every single medical cream and asked me what it was for. I explained (I am a pharmacist from Canada) that one is hydrocortisone, one is an antifungal, one is for cuts. She then said I needed to tell her what each medication is does I said that this seems very personal, but told her that antifungals are for fungal infections, hydrocortisone is for rashes, and then the fucidin is for skin wounds. She said this was not enough- I was getting upset and told her that I had never been asked this before and you can see quite clearly on the label that they are medications (from Canada) including a prescription. She insisted I tell her exactly what they were for and I was forced to announce in front of EVERYONE in security that the antifungal is for a potential yeast infection. She said she didn’t know what that was and she asked where on the body it had to go so I had to see in front of every single person in line that it was VAGINAL. I have been travelling for over 25 years, and on this trip alone have been on 9 flights, and not once have I ever been asked what my medications are for, let alone to this degree. I am left feeling so upset and uncomfortable and violated. I can’t believe this happened. I feel really uncomfortable and am in tears writing this.
I write a very negative report for arrival at Aarhus. Departure so far much better with helpful staff, no queues and comfortable departure lounge. However, very disappointed that there is nowhere to fill a water bottle. Given that travellers have not been able to take liquid through for many years and given the battle against plastic, I do think that is terrible and very un Danish. All made worse by cost of a 330 ml bottle of water at DKK 35.00 which is a double top off! This surely would be easy to resolve?
