Review Time
A&K once again knocked it out of the park when arranging our pre-Antarctica cruise itinerary in Buenos Aires and then Iguazu. Our guide in Buenos Aires, Elizabeth was able to give us a great overview of the city with her recommendations for food and shopping. We loved seeing the neighborhoods and had a great tango lesson. For Iguazu, we do wish we had one more day just to space out all the activities of the walks through the falls to just be able to relax given the heat and humidity of the region during summer.
Once we were on the Ponant boat, we loved our expedition team along with the crew. The speakers from the expedition team are fantastic and we do wish there was some kind of signup to have meals or talk more with them as it was chaotic respecting their time but also wanting more discussions. We do wish the recordings of the lectures were given to us at the end of the trip as well. Rob, Patri, Lucy, and Jason were our favorite speakers and any passenger would be lucky to learn from them.
The ponant boat was absolutely luxurious and wonderful. The head waiter Keyane was particularly amazing for us because our party has a food allergy and after he heard about it, he stepped in every meal we appeared to double check with the teams for what would be available for us to consume without having to worry. He even made sure the chefs had something on standby in case they had planned for the menu to be heavy that day with the particular allergen. Would absolutely love to take a ponant boat again.
The meticulous attention to detail from the company, combined with the outstanding staff and crew of the chartered expedition ship, made each day feel like an adventure. The Activities Director and Historian presenter were particularly impressive, while the captain skillfully navigated through a strait filled with icebergs, which was a highlight. The ship itself was remarkable, despite a few minor issues like the lack of a sink in the toilet, some lukewarm vegetables, and the absence of a Christmas Dinner; however, the desserts were exceptional. The company was always available, contributing to this wonderful cruise.
I wanted to express how much we enjoyed our time. The whole process, from the local guides to the accommodations, was seamless. We had excellent guides, fantastic lodging, breathtaking game drives, delicious meals, and even made some friends along the way. It was an incredible safari adventure, and we are grateful to the service.
I haven't even started my trip yet, but I'm already worried that the inadequate customer service I've encountered will continue throughout my two-week journey. With just seven days until departure, I still haven't received my travel documents. I've been given numerous assurances that the documents would be emailed, but no emails have arrived. Just yesterday, after raising my voice with the representative, the documents were sent right away. Really?
I still lack information about my pickup at the destination—no details on where or when, despite my repeated inquiries. "We will email it to you on your travel day." What?
Additionally, the travel insurance documents I received contained errors that could impact my coverage once my trip starts. And there's more... I've made countless calls, but the promised callbacks never took place.
Peru and Machu Picchu: Exceptional service from beginning to end. We anticipated high-quality service, but this truly surpassed all our expectations. The itinerary and accommodations were first-rate, and the team leader along with the guides were outstanding. The entire group was delighted with this journey. Highly recommend the service and plan to travel with them again.

Would highly recommend A&K and plan to travel with them again.
We travelled with A & K to India in Nov 2024, after they refused to refund our payment for an Egypt tour, despite the advent of war in the Middle East, which impacted our itinerary. Whereas one expected excellence from this company, mediocrity and cynicism was our experience. Yes, one is accommodated (generally) in splendid hotels, but you are then left to confront the front desk, when you are allocated an inferior room type. This happened on a number of occasions, with no assistance offered by the tour director. Then the itinerary is chosen with little real concern for the interests of the group - eg only because we arrived a day early in Mumbai, were we able to arrange wonderful private tours of the awakening of the city - the newspaper deliveries, the flower and fish markets and Dharavi. Without that experience, we would have seen almost nothing of Mumbai. The so-called Panna Tiger Park is nothing more than a deer park, and one is given no opportunity to explore the streets and smells of Varanasi. Of course, there were good experiences, but a private tour arranged by one of the reputable local tour companies would be our preferred option. A & K is an over-priced mediocre option.
