AirHelp reached out to me saying I could get compensation for my delayed flight which happened a few years ago and I didn't even know I could claim compensation.
This was with Kenyan Airways who was very difficult but AirHelp fought my case for several months even after Kenyan Airways rejected our claim - AirHelp managed to pick up the case again and get me my compensation in the end!

I filed direct expenses for $150 and Airhelp further advertised I would be able to claim up to $600.
Airhelp received all receipts for hotel, meals and other expenses. They said all receipts and claims was OK, but due to bad weather I was not able to claim the additional $600, only my $150 of direct expenses.
After fees I received $20 - that's right, admin expenses from Airhelp of $130 !!!
My bank then took $10 fee to receive the money, leaving me with $10... LOL.
Don't waste time on this, it's ridiculous. Had I just claimed direct expenses from airline, I would have received all $150.
2 stars instead of 1 because at least the filing process is pretty smooth and i did not waste too much time on it.
Terrible to deal with. They are refusing to send my refund on the original payment method. Also they have kept their commission but refuse to send me the rest. Stop using them, and avoid them
After my flight was delayed 3+ hours, Airhelp offered to claim my money back with KLM. After I signed up I realised they took 35% commission, no win no fee. Okay, a bit steep but hey ho.
I had an email back from Airhelp to say my claim was unsuccessful. Knowing that I was entitled to compensation, I took my claim directly to KLM and won. I don’t know how KLM collaborate with air help. But I had a second email from AirHelp to say the claim was now successful. They paid me compensation less the 35% commission for doing nothing.
I emailed Airhelp to ask why they were taking commission as it was no win no fee and they did not win … I did. Unsurprisingly I heard nothing back from them. My advice would be if you think you are entitled to compensation, go directly to the airline and don’t bother with Airhelp.
I tried getting my compensation through Airhelp as the airline never responded my emails. Airhelp started a court case with them in December 2024 - or so they say.
Since then, I didn't once receive any sort of update about the case. They keep on saying things like "we escalated the case" or "we will ask our lawyers and get back to you in around 2 weeks" - but nothing.
So all in all, very unhappy - so if you decide to go through them and not their competitors expect very vague answers from them.
I understand court cases are out of their control and some courts are slower than others but as their client the least they could do is give me more information to give me insurance that it is indeed being looking into rather than the usual "we appreciate your patience".
Over 1 year later, still no compensation.
The service managed my claim for nearly a year, consistently sending emails stating they were in touch with the airline to secure compensation. After a full year of waiting, they abruptly closed my claim with an unjustified reason and only provided a €20 voucher. Now, they are unresponsive to my inquiries. I insist that my claim be reopened and reassessed by a senior case manager.
I strongly advise against using this service as it has been a terrible experience. They repeatedly ask the same questions, which is infuriating. In my opinion, their customer support is among the worst I've encountered. I don't expect any compensation, especially since my flight was cancelled without any warning.
I was not anticipating any compensation for my claim, as I had submitted it casually while waiting for my connecting flight. To my surprise, three months later, I received a message and within a few minutes, the funds were in my bank account. Thank you! Happy Holidays!
