My husband hit ice and landed in the ditch. He called Allstate as we've been a member for years. They said they didn't have anyone who could come since this was 4am. They told him to call his own truck, and they would reimburse by showing the receipt. We mailed the receipt 3 times and after months went by with no reimbursement, we just gave up and cancelled our membership. We will never use them again.
Last February, I signed up for Allstate to get my car towed from my farm in Goldendale, Washington to the Dalles, Oregon. Goldendale has a towing company and is 10 miles away, The Dalles has a towing company and is 45 miles away. However, Allstates's customer service guy kept trying to get a towing company from Sunnyside, 150 miles from the Dalles, so the companies kept canceling the towing. The same day, I signed up for Allstate, I canceled as it was worthless. Today, I found out that though I told them to cancel my account, they never did and have been billing me monthly. They said on the phone that the guy in February wrote down an order to cancel but we were disconnected. If he wrote down an order to cancel, regardless of the disconnect, he had all my information and should have still gone through with the cancellation. However, he lied too. We were disconnected, multiple times, and I called him back every time. By the time I insisted on canceling the account because I could not get towing, we did not get disconnected. Allstate clearly practices fraud, as it seems this scenario has happened to multiple people. I am ready to file a class action lawsuit if Allstate refuses to refund the $105.84 they owe me, as well as the hours spent on the phone trying to get this resolved.
Seriously put in danger from this motor club. Was in fear of running out of fuel, as well as cell reception, as I was very familiar with the route I was traveling. I called dispatch and told her I was running out of gas as well as cell coverage and to please send a rescue vehicle to the hwy and approximate Mile marker I would be at. Rather than be denied service at the location I was at, since I hadnt lost all fuel yet.....I decided to continue on-as I was only 20 miles from the next town. As feared, I ran out of fuel, without any cell coverage, but for a minute was confident the dispatcher would have done her job and sent a rescue vehicle to me. It was July, 2019, and record breaking heatwave of 110 degrees. I sat in my car without any water, food, shade or mobile coverage for 8, yes EIGHT HOURS, as no tow truck appeared. Ended up walking to nearest ranch that was 2 miles away and not very welcoming, to say the least. Had a shotgun pointed at me while trying to explain my situation. They allowed me to use the phone and offered me some water. When I called Allstate motor club to check on status of help I was told there never even was a truck dispatched. I seriously would advise NOT going with this motor club as I suffered heat stroke as well as being stranded on a road out of anyone’s earshot of help. They offered me a year free and if they think I would ever rely on them again they are out of their mind.
