I am extremely disappointed with Allstate Roadside Assistance. I have been a customer for three years, and within the last year alone, I’ve had a terrible experience that has completely broken my trust in this service.
Customers are only allowed five service calls per year. I personally used only two, yet somehow someone else was able to use my roadside services three times—out of state in Florida—without my authorization. This happened even after I specifically contacted Allstate and requested that a password be added to my account for security.
Despite taking those precautions, unauthorized use still occurred. I reported the issue to the insurance commission, but Allstate never followed up with me or provided any resolution. I had to call them myself, only to discover that my membership number had been changed without my knowledge.
Even more concerning, after my membership number was changed, I received a call from Allstate asking if I had requested roadside service—again, I had not. This means unauthorized use happened on my account more than once, even after the issue was reported.
This level of negligence and lack of communication is unacceptable. Roadside assistance is supposed to provide peace of mind in emergencies, not create additional stress and security concerns.
To be fair, I do have both my homeowners and auto insurance with Allstate, and my agent has been excellent. I’ve had minimal claims over 34 years and have generally been satisfied with those services. However, the roadside assistance program is completely unreliable and, in my experience, not trustworthy.
I would strongly caution others to think twice before relying on Allstate’s roadside service.
I had a trip interruption for which my plan was supposed to cover up to $1500. I submitted my bill for just over$900 for the rental car and Uber to the rental car and have gotten stone walled in numerous ways without any reimbursement. I submitted the bills on their website but they were never acknowledged. Then submitted via email and they were ignored until I spent over 30 minutes on the phone. Then several other times I was promised follow up which didn’t happen. Their devious mode of operation is to ignore and deny. Do not trust this company
I purchased the membership with 2 free assistance sessions available. I called becasue my battery died. I did ot know how to open the door with the battery dead( the key was in the fob). The man was very nice but not experienced; he was unable to jump my car. Recommended a 350. battery replacement on an under-warranty Acura. I got the battery the next day, the car was dead again. I called to use my service to tow it to the dealership, but they said I used both my free services. Not only was I charged for a lockout when the key was in the fob, but it was also recorded as a week earlier, like it was 2 different calls. I paid for the membership, a 350 battery, and then had to pay for a tow with another company (250) not only that their service app is not easy to use if you do not have your membership number in your hand. You have to log in and get it instead of talking to an agent. Services are only as good as their providers and their providers' experience. Charging for 2 services on separate days was just fraud. I never had this problem with aaa. Will not use again. The membership only costs me money. Turns out the radio was on with no volume, and that is why my battery was dieing. I did ask the man to check if something was on but he wasnt capable :( Way too much time and money fro nothing
I signed up for roadside assistance, today was the first time, I had to use it. I was told I only have 10 miles and my car had to go 50 miles and I had to pay 345 dollars before they could tow me. I was on the expressway with my kid, I ended up calling another company to have it towed who informed me I could pay when I got to my house. I should read over the roadside assistance, but I have had roadside assistance at another company and never experienced anything like that before. I will be cancelling my home and auto tomorrow when I find another company. The company is Allstate, very disappointed with them.
Hadnt used it for months and tries to use it but I had cancelled the payment card as lost and forgot to update this account. Took several account checks and a phone call with several automated chain choices where the Indian rep said my payment was tried to be processed SEVERAL times but nobody bothered to send an email or call He claims were sent They were not. Get Triple A. More responsive, can get through one phone call immediately instead of being forced to go online and they do what they say they do, immediately. Allstate has issues with execution and their reps are rude.
Unpaid GOA from jj portfolio. I was EMAILED directly by the supervisor, Luis Pérez, through email that payment was guaranteed. Despite this written assurance, I still haven’t received any payment for my work. I’ve followed up multiple times with no resolution. This experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I strongly advise anyone considering working with or doing business with this company to proceed with caution until they demonstrate that they actually honor their payment commitments.
My family and I were stranded on the side of the highway in 90 to 100 degree weather. After finally figuring out what number to call and then being told eventhough I pay extra for additional roadside service that only 10 miles of tow travel is covered, I was very unhappy with the entire situation. Before All-State would send any random Tow Company out, the customer service guy made me pay $160 upfront and told me he would not be able to call the Tow Company and find out how long it would actually take for them to arrive. The heat was unbearable. We were on the side of a highway and the All-State rep could not have cared less. This process could use a total overhaul. In the event this happens to me in the future, I'll definitely just call a Tow Company myself. That's what we ended up having to do anyway. Canceling the extra fees that I'm currently paying as it doesn't seem to help with much else. Totally disappointed with the service provided.
I signed up for Allstate motor club with my Allstate insurance policy. I cancelled my Allstate insurance policy in July due to a poor experience with a theft claim I filed with them in MARCH when my car was stolen. I assumed that when I cancelled the policy this also cancelled anything along with it. Turns out I’ve been getting charged for the roadside assistance membership since July. When I found out today, I immediately called because I was unable to log in. I was told that you have to cancel their policy separately and they would only be refunding me $3.72 which is about 10% of what I’ve paid them since July. The customer service woman I spoke to was rude as hell, spoke over me, and refused to come to any sort of resolution other than to cancel the policy for me and refund me the $3.72. I asked for a supervisor and I was flat out told no. No explanation was given as to how you sign up for the roadside assistance through Allstate, but it has to be cancelled through a separate entity entirely. They do not care that they essentially steal from you, and it’s my understanding from other reviews that they don’t even do much for you in terms of actual roadside assistance. Save your money. This product is trash and so is its customer service.
Used their app to schedule a tow to get my car to the garage as the brake line leaked and couldn't drive it. No problem using app, app seemed nice and thought we were good to go. App showed when tow was assigned and map tracking to see when driver was in the way. Seemed all good and app gave a time window driver would be there. So we wait and watch. And proceed to watch the driver in the app blow us off drive right by us. Watch him head miles away from us at the time he should have been towing our car the to shop. Calling the number the app gave us contacted us to a very unprofessional dispatch office who just answered the phone with hello. No company name or anything. They kept telling us the driver would be there shortly. And when I asked how can that be as I'm watching him drive further away on the app. Then they gave the excuse he had another job. Excuse me? What about what I booked. An hour and half past the time they were supposed to be there I cancelled and called someone else. I quit them then and there. No excuse for their behavior and total lack of communication. If I could give them less then one star I would . The local guy I called was really nice there in under one hour and said they work thru triple A. So I'll be going back to them and Allstate Roadside can go pound sand.
