This review is not due to me being on the boat, but the boat that was docked in brunswick ga on 2/28/2026. I was just trying to get a little information from them to see if that was a good fit for a 1st time cruiser. But the guy that I approached seemed like he could care less what was being asked and was more worried about a "meeting" they was trying to have. If thats how they treat someone just inquiring I would hate to see how they treat you once youre on the boat. But that little interaction 100 percent turned me away from ever considering them .

Go on one of these cruises I don’t know who’s doing all this hiring but they do not know what they’re doing. Don’t waste your time. There’s several other cruise lines in the US that are much better experience.

Our first and last cruise with ACL was on the Snake & Columbia Rivers in November 2025. There was no divider between our stateroom balcony and that of the next. As a consequence, we rarely went out on the balcony, and we had to keep our curtains closed for privacy while we’re were trying to relax in our stateroom. Additionally, the sliding door was difficult to lock, and once it did lock, all it took was a little jiggle to unlock it. So, there was a definite feeling of insecurity and lack of privacy whether we were in the cabin or away from it.

Disheartening Experience with Discrimination

It's truly disheartening to witness some customers exhibiting racist and targeted behavior towards staff. I encountered this directly while working. A customer repeatedly sat in my section and falsely accused me of not greeting her for 30 minutes, which was simply untrue. She consistently complained to my manager, labeling me as “not a good server” and emphasizing her experience in the hospitality industry, claiming she “knows how things should be done.” What made this situation even more unsettling was her clear focus on me. We are required to document service details, and after seeing me serve elsewhere, she actually chased me down to hand me an ice pack—despite other servers being available and not occupied. There was no reason for her to approach me specifically. Her actions felt obsessive, targeted, and inappropriate. For context, I am a person of color. The way she fixated on me, voiced complaints, and followed me felt racially charged and deeply uncomfortable. If she truly understands the concept of “reality,” as she claimed, then she should also recognize that harassing service workers based on false accusations is unacceptable. I hope she reads this review and reflects on her actions. Her behavior is shameful.

Scenery was wonderful

Scenery was wonderful, food was mostly good (a few meals were lackluster, but it would be impossible to please everybody every time) and plentiful. Bed was very comfy, staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our disembarkation.

Our disembarkation in the rain was the only negative experience during a wonderful cruise week. The company cannot control the rain, but the staff could have possibly been better trained and prepared to protect our luggage during the transfer from the ship to the busses. After our transfer to PDX airport, we found most of our personal items in our bags had been soaked by the rain.

Wonderful experience

Wonderful experience! This was our first cruise ever and the crew of the Splendor were exceptional! From our first interaction with our excursion's director to the last breakfast, they took care of our every need. As we cruised down the lower Mississippi River we enjoyed all our excursions and all the views. Highly recommend ACL for River Cruising!
