Review Time
I wish I had read these reviews before my shooting with Andrew Wood !I won a fb giveaway and I wasn't told I'd only get 1 photo print for free, I was lead to understand that I have a free photoshoot and I'd get EXTRA 1 print for free and the rest of the photos would be digital. But no. You get nothing but a small print. And you have to go again for the viewing, otherwise you lose your deposit. I understand this is how they do business but the thing that bothered me the most is that they were supposed to get back to me after my viewing but they didn't. I rang their studio and they said they will get back to me ASAP but they didn't. And now, after 2 weeks I get a text from them asking when Do I want To Book My Next Viewing. Hahahah like I have time and money to waste on another trip to their studio, when they clearly stated I won't be needing to go there again because they will sent my memory stick with the photos via mail. Lies. I ended up purchasing nothing because this studio is far from professional. Don't waste your time, go to another studio. The only thing I am giving 1 star is because Danielle the photographer was amazing. She made sure I felt comfortable during my photo session and she was so sweet.PS. I got contacted by AW studio and they said ,as a goodwill gesture, if I purchase one of the packages, they will give me 5 photos for free. What a joke. Wow.
Most fun I've had so far this year, the staff are all really lovely and make you feel a fabulous. Loved every minute of the experience and I am more than happy with my photos. Can't believe how young and fabulous I look. Would definitely do it again
The experience started by winning the experience of a photo shoot. I was very nervous from the very start. I was contacted by APW and they started by letting me feel that I was in control. They helped me decide how I would like to proceed and what to expect on the day. On the day of arrival, the way I was treated by the receptionist, the make over artist and the photographer was better than I could imagine. They were helpful, kind and considerate. All questions were answered. In no way was I felt to be ridiculous or different. On the day of viewing the photos, I was treated with respect, kindness and normal. This has been very important to me as a crossdresser. I was reassured from start to finish and felt wonderful throughout. My one wish is that it could have lasted all day. Would I do it again, yes I would. I am proud of the photographs and just wish that I could see them shown on there web site
Fantastic experience, the studio is GORGEOUS and beautifully laid out - I felt like a VIP as soon as I walked through the door. The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is just so lovely and friendly - you can tell they enjoy working there :) I was asked how I would like my hair and makeup and nothing was too much trouble - they really do listen to what YOU want. I had never done anything like this before, so was really nervous. The photographer (sorry I've forgotten her name) made me feel really comfortable and showed my how to pose so my best "side" could be viewed. I have to say the photos at my viewing when I came back to view them just a couple of days later were nothing short but beautiful. I couldn't quite believe it was me :) Yes you can get cheaper...but you get what you pay for, and mine are 100% worth it and I would recommend them a thousand times! Thankyou so much for such an amazing photoshoot, I loved every moment....xxxx
I wish i could give this a higher rating but was close to putting 2stars.I understand how photoshoot competitions work and everyone that applies "wins" and then its down to them to sell you the photographs. You put a deposit down witch you later get back, that seems fair but once you put that deposit down your locked in with them with no way of canceling. I found the whole ordeal a lil stressful with how much harassment from the studio i received. The CONSTANT text messages, phone calls, emails and even post i received in this short 2-3week window was bordering on stalking. There was/is absolutely no need to continuously ring people to ask there requirements. I told them multiple times i work awkward hours and cannot spend time on the phone. I decided to put three starts instead of two because of the friendliness of the staff, the makeup artist and photographer did a great job keeping your spirits high. Personally i found the poses a lil cheesy and outdated. As a makeup artist iv worked on allot of photoshoots and there really was little to no direction when it came to the poses. The photography seems to focus more on editing rather than getting you into the perfect pose. You win a free photo with your competition and the deals for one or two extra photos weren't bad but i found it hard to pick even one photo at the end because i wasn't a huge fan of any of them. Despite relaying very clearly what i wanted from the photoshoot it seems they had a specific way of doing things and it didn't quite come out how i wished.I expected sales to be pushy so i didn't mind that as i understand that's how they make their money. You also get complementary drink while your there and the makeover was fun.My last gripe is traveling, its not as easy to get there as i assumed and ended up having to pay for ubers, especially when you need to return for your viewing. So it cost me in the end.
The team at Andrew Wood photography called me and said I'd won a competition that I'd entered for the "Glow" shoot. They were very professional over the phone and told me I had to pay £35 fully refundable deposit to secure my appointment which I was happy to do. When I got to the appointment I was so nervous however the team on the front desk were so welcoming, made me a cup of tea and were really chatty so made me feel at ease. My make up artist Abbie came out to get me, she was lovely, really polite and pleasant and her makeup techniques were really good! For me as someone who doesn't wear makeup often it's a little daunting someone doing your make up for you however she did a great job and asked me questions throughout to give me the best possible look I was comfortable with. Abbie also did my hair, which I loved! I also walked away with a complimentary set of make up brushes which I thought was a lovely touch!Danielle then came and got me from the beauty room and introduced herself she was amazing and really pleasant she explained what would happen in the shoot and give me a bit of her background which made me feel more at ease! She was so easy to talk too and could tell I was really nervous offered me a drink throughout the experience and made me laugh, we got on really well which just made the experience so much better! I thought she was very professional in explaining how she wanted me to apply myself in poses and she made me feel beautiful, really empowered! Overall I was so nervous about the experience but once I got there every person I spoke too was just so lovely that it made the experience a really pleasant one! I felt so confident and really empowered by the end of it! Like I could take on the world! It would definately be something I would do again and even contemplating buying as a gift experience for others! Just wanted to say thanks to the team for the experience and I'm looking forward to my viewing!
