During my car insurance claim, I interacted with five different representatives, which created confusion regarding the appropriate point of contact at any given time. Once Amie O'Donnell handled my claim, everything improved—she was excellent throughout.The processing speed of the claim was unsatisfactory. Although the responsible party acknowledged liability within one to two months following the accident, it has taken over a year to resolve the claim. I submitted personal loss receipts on 4 occasions as they were lost or not passed between parties. I was contacted for an initial medical assessment within 1–2 months of the accident, submitted all required information, and then heard nothing for 10 months. Being asked to attend a medical examination 12 months after the accident is bizarre.
We had Ali Masterson support us with our medical negligence claim for our son. She was incredibly thorough, was very supportive and knowledgable and showed a great deal of empathy. She kept us up to date and informed throughout the whole process and contacted us when she needed too. We are very grateful to her and would recommend to anyone needing legal support.
Elizabeth Dunn supported my family in completing returns for my Mother's estate. This was reasonably complex. She did the work with grace, humour and precision. HMRC was outrageously slow. Having exhausted normal channels, she raised a complaint which prompted their completing sign-off without comment. They apologised for breaching their service levels. Elizabeth was doggedly persistent and professional throughout, and more than fair in her charges. A real asset.
I chose Ashtons Legal based believing I would be in capable hands. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing and has left me devastated, frustrated, and angry.From the outset, I was led to believe I had a strong case. At no point did I expect that, after nearly a year and a half of pursuing this matter, I would be abruptly informed via email that the case was being closed—based solely on the opinion of a single medical expert who, in my view, failed to thoroughly review all of the documentation. I now have just one year left before my legal window to make a claim expires.Throughout this process, I was forced to do constant chasing. Many of my emails went unanswered, and I was repeatedly left in the dark. When responses did come, they were often excuses about other cases taking precedence over mine. It wasn’t until I formally raised a complaint that I finally received any meaningful communication. I first contacted your firm in February 2024; yet it took until June 20, 2025, to receive the medical expert's report. I understand legal cases take time, but this level of delay is unacceptable.Now, I’m under urgent time pressure to seek a second opinion from a new solicitor—something I must do despite feeling completely disillusioned with the legal profession as a whole due to this experience.I strongly urge others to research thoroughly before placing trust in any firm. My experience has made me feel like just another case number—easily dismissed when no longer deemed viable. A courteous phone call, proper guidance, or any human approach would have been appreciated. Instead, I received none of that—just a cold email and a closed door.This has been a genuinely appalling experience.
