After comparing multiple brands across the mattress field, I came down to 2 similarly sized, American companies. Bear beat their competition in actual cooling abilities & build quality. I bought an Elite Hybrid for my wife & I & a Classic for my daughter. FANTASTIC decision.
I was very impressed with how affordable my Bear original mattress was as well as the use of health-conscious materials. Also, although the third-party company that offers discounts for hospital workers declined me, when I reached out to Bear directly with my info and documentation of being a hospital worker, they very kindly gave me the same discount which I very much appreciated. The mattress is firm and comfortable which is what I was looking for. I have been having some neck shoulder pain but think I need to research and look into what pillow I should be using with a firm mattress to help resolve that issue. Otherwise, I can tell I am not waking up during the night as much as I used to with my old pillow top mattress and that I am sleeping relatively well after nearly a month of sleeping on it.

Did a lot of research before purchasing a mattress. Got a great deal on the Bear Elite Hybrid Firm (medium) with adjustable base. Felt comfortable purchasing online due to their return policy. So glad we did! My husband and I both sleep so much better. His snoring is better and back pain is gone. I sleep completely through the night now and feel more rested in the morning. It really is a fantastic mattress for the money!
We have purchased 2 Elite Hybrids and very satisfied with both. We purchased the first one after doing some extensive research on mattresses focusing on the features and benefits relative to our personal needs. We are both athletes (older ones) and each of struggle with some aging injuries and arthritis, so finding a mattress which allows to maximize our comfort and sleep was essential. After living with our first purchase for a few years we just purchased a second one for a vacation home.
What happened to the scores?I bought these mattresses for my short-term rental. The scores were much higher then. I have had no complaints and loved the lifetime warranty. That was important as tenants are not always careful with other people's things.
