2 weeks in a row, never received any meals

I placed two separate orders for meals from Blue Apron. The first week I did not receive any meals. I ordered a second week of meals and did not receive these meals either. Customer service was slow and I don’t feel I was very helpful or interested in making it right—if you’re lucky enough to get a response. The second week I received no response from customer service. I wanted to try the new fresh meal options and meal kits in place of meal planning. Now I have last minute rush to a grocery store and rushed weekday meal planning. I would have saved money by planning better in advance on my own. I never had this issue with other meal delivery services.

Issues with blue apron orders

In the past ordered from HelloFresh or home chef decided to try blue Apron for the first time first order went well second and third orders missing an entrée no notification of missing entrée texted them second order. I’m done told them just to refund the money rather than credit. The account going back to what I know is tried and the

I didn’t want to leave 1 star

I didn’t want to leave 1 star. Horrible taste. The luncheon does contain additives and preservatives. Understood it frozen but it shouldn’t. The chicken was brown meat and uncooked, chunks of fat. The scrambled egg treat with bits of Canadian bacon. No taste, more like artificial. Ugh 😩

Nothing but trouble!

I signed up for another opportunity to show me that Blue Apron had made the improvements after a couple of years before I was a customer Well, they’re worse now than before! After several delayed shipments and meal shortages due to out of stock ingredients, it was one issue after another This last issue was the final call!I was notified of my shipment was on its way and I also received notice that my meals were missing due to some ingredients shortages again My shipment arrived and as I opened the box, there were NO meals in it, just the two ice bags and a sheet of cardboard Yes, they actually shipped me a box of nothing and get this, they changed my card for the order I attempted to call several times but was told to leave a message and customer service would get back to me within 48 hours I tried to text and email but got the same message, that I would be contacted within 48 hours I never heard from anyone! What a joke!Do NOT sign up for these meals as there are many others to order from but watch out, Blue Apron also owns several other meal kit companies under their corporate name Do your research!

Be very careful with this company

Be very careful with this company. my first order was not a subscription mainly because I wanted to try the product. Before I got to go back and place another order I received a charge on my card for a subscription plan. I contacted customer service and they did absolutely nothing to help with this issues so I cancelled my account. I do not recommend this company to anyone

Gone downhill significantly

I've been using blue apron on and off for years, the most recent was four about a year straight. It was fine but I noticed the meat amount in much smaller then previously and the produce quality went down. The most recent update about a month ago ruined blue apron. The food is just okay and not worth the price. Every shipment there's been an issue. Ingredients missing, not the correct meals, food warm, substitutes without any directions, etc. I contacted support over green beans that were already decaying and didnt receive support even after 2 weeks. I would stay away unless you want to get poor produce, the wrong ingredients and still be hungry after the meal while paying a good amount for said food.

Frustrating experience

Frustrating experience. Very difficult to select meals through the app. Support takes 1+ week to respond. Recipe cards usually missing, which would be tolerable if the app functioned correctly. Recent updates pushed me to cancel. I was loving it before the last few weeks. Do not recommend.

Begging for a Compromise, but Struggling

Here is my honest feedback of Blue Apron. BEST tasting food of any of my prior meal delivery services. However, it was only a honeymoon of 1-2 boxes. The past 3 boxes have been delivered 4 days LATE, the ice was completely melted, and the meals were WARM. I’m begging Blue Apron give me a compromise, we are failing to connect! I want to remain a customer, but I’m on my 3rd week without meals.

The meals never showed up

The meals never showed up, but I was charged. It was very hard to get a refund. The same thing happened the following week. I tried to cancel on line, but it wouldn’t let cancel my subscription, stated “I couldn’t cancel because I had a delivery in progress “, nothing ever showed up. They don’t answer my last text, don’t answer email. Now I’ve been waiting forever on the phone. They have totally ripped me off, and I can’t seem to get my money back or cancel the subscription.

SUBSCRIBERS BEWARE!

Honestly, the meals are amazing. I have only had ONE issue that I can remember, and it was resolved with relative ease. This is a lot more than I can say for any other meal kit I have tried. I genuinely think that's a big deal, and save for the price, I have loved Blue Apron so far. They have pretty nice introductory offers if you just want to try it out. I even like that they're making changes to recipe timings so it shows the difference between prep time and actual cook time. This is why I wish I were here writing a good review - my experience has been good so far...Until 8/14/25. After using BA for several months, I got a piece of mail from Blue Apron yesterday. The front says "You asked. We listened." (Clearly not…) It goes on to say that I have received a "free gift" that is three months of something called Blue Apron +. In really small text it says that this is a subscription service and I'm receiving a free trial, after which I will be charged $9.99 a month. First of all, the ONLY way to see the date that the free trial ends is to keep the letter. If I go to my account on the website and look under "Blue Apron +," it just says I'm a member since August 2025. No start date, no mention of the end date of the free trial. If you cancel the subscription, you lose the benefits immediately, not at the end of your trial. So if you don't keep the letter, you either have to cancel right away or take a gamble about when to cancel if you don't want to be charged extra. Based on the date in the letter, either the free trial is NOT actually 3 months/90 days (I have seen both ways of writing it used), OR I was signed up for the trial for 9 days before I was informed about it. The letter says the trial ends November 3. 90 days before that is August 5. Based on the fact that I was charged shipping on 8/9 for my 8/13 box, I believe that the free trial is clearly not 3 full months or 90 full days. Which is annoying and means they've lied, but it's a lot better than being signed up for something without your consent or knowledge for more than a week before being notified, which is what I thought had originally happened. There are a LOT of shady business practices out there, but NEVER in my life have I been signed up for a "free trial" that will cost me money after the trial ends without my consent or even notifying me beforehand!! And I just found out that HelloFresh was sued for doing the same thing. Yikes! The letter itself is easy to miss, saying it contains a "free gift" (a lot of the time, when I get a "free gift" from a meal kit company, it's a coupon for something that I'm not interested in and is still expensive with the discount, and a LOT of people ignore snail mail or do not even get it), but luckily they DID send an email the same day - though it is also easy to miss. It should really have a subject line indicating changes have been made to your account, but it's clear they WANTED to be deceptive. I think they knew exactly what they were doing and this is absolutely on purpose. They are betting that people will miss the letter or not pay attention and then suddenly start getting charged extra for the same expensive meals in a few months. This is not a benefit to the customer, this is a way to line their pockets even further. It's absolutely disgusting. Besides: They seem to be doing all these updates, which is nice. But the only actual benefit that I can see from this subscription is free shipping on all orders. I am not interested in some cooking show subscription (I'm sure some people will be, that's cool, just saying it isn't useful to me), and the other benefit is a vague "exclusive members only perks" with no further clarification to it, and no "exclusive perks" on the website that I've seen. Furthermore, now that they've "improved" the app, google login does not work anymore. I've tried on multiple devices. AND they're sending me emails w/ broken links.I don't see how any of this is an improvement. It's like they hired a consultant to revamp their business plan and were told that alienating and lying to their customers was the best way to earn more money, and that the LOOK of an app is more important than functionality. Which may work in the short run, but that's absolutely how you lose customers. I was already trying to figure out switching to a different meal kit because these are just so expensive (at the price for 3 meals for 2 people per week, I could literally eat out instead and not pay much more for less work), but this absurdly anti-consumer practice has solidified it. I'll take the free shipping while I figure things out, but I'm done with Blue Apron.Even if you don't feel the same, I would definitely make sure you at least check your account and determine whether or not you actually want Blue Apron + before you start paying for it.
