Love Holly at Boring Money! Her straight talking energetic humorous approach cuts through the noise

Love Holly at Boring Money!
Her straight talking energetic humorous approach cuts through the noise. And her mission is to get us women investing!
I’ve done the free online course, and cautiously started investing just over 2 years ago now. At the time Holly had all her own pension in Vanguard 100% so I started with that. I looked at her tables of best selling funds and platforms and spread my money over 3 platforms. I used up my ISA allowances, and have just set up my nieces and nephew with LISAs to give them financial goals and expertise. I’ve averaged over 20% annual returns over 2 years and now have the confidence to remove my underperforming SIPP from a well known business and make my own choices, looking at top performing funds on the Boring Money lists.
Thank you Holly, you’re an inspiration!
Ps and being in your 70’s doesn’t mean you have to be cautious as has been the perceived wisdom, go for it! Follow the basics, spread your risk geographically and by sector. And have fun! It’s so interesting delving in to a whole new world!

I particularly like your comparison of investment platforms

I particularly like your comparison of platforms performance. More information on managed portfolios available on these platforms would be helpful plus clarity on which platforms do not offer managed portfolios.

Business Details

  • Boring Money helps normal people make smarter investment decisions - quickly and painlessly.

We're an independent business founded in 2015 to cut through financial jargon and make investing accessible to everyone. No PhD required! Millions of Brits have used us as a trusted source for savings, investments, and pensions guidance.
With over 24 years in the investment industry, our founder, Holly Mackay, got tired of watching people struggle through pages of gobbledygook. Here's the secret: once you get past the jargon, sensible investing is actually quite easy.

    What we do:
✔Compare ISAs, pensions, and investment platforms with independent ratings and reviews
✔Run annual Best Buy Awards based on 26,000+ customer ratings and rigorous testing.
✔Provide clear guides and articles explaining finance in normal language.
✔Offer tools like calculators and quizzes to help you make decisions.
✔Share honest customer reviews so you can learn from real experiences.
✔Help you take action - whether that's opening an ISA, choosing funds, or finding an adviser.

We offer generic guidance, not personalised financial advice (we're not regulated advisers). If you've ever felt alienated, patronised, or exhausted by finance, you're in the right place!See more
