Review Time
I mistakenly ordered a fabric I didn't need, but only found out after I placed my order. Upon explaining the situation, they were kind enough to cancel the order! That is enough for me to recommend them as a shop to purchase from, since they understand and have actual empathy for their customers. After all, there was no reason they would be obligated to take that action. They very well could have refused, but they didn't.
What made my experience great is the personal touch. In a time when a live voice is hard to get...I love that when I reach out with a question or concern, my concerns are addressed quickly. Also, the shipping time is fantastic even for the most reasonable choice. Also, they had exactly what I needed. I am that one who is a little extra and they have a selection for everyone. I will continue to make them the priority when choosing fabric,
I searched the website for a local burlap and cotton bag business in Chicago. I discovered Burlap Fabric at 3534 N. Spaulding in Chicago. Ben assisted me and was very attentive to my needs, patient, friendly, knowledgeable about the quality his products and introduced me to clearance and more affordable items that I was seeking. I didn’t feel rushed and his main concern was that I was satisfied with the items purchased. I will definitely purchase again and recommend this company for any fabric related need.
I needed chiffon fabric last minute for an outfit I was wearing to a wedding. Ben was so kind as to reassure me that my package would get to me on time even though I ordered VERY last minute. Chiffon arrived promptly! It was packaged very well and was exactly the color as shown. I knew I would need to dye it to match my dress, and it dyed very well especially for it being my first time. I will be using them again in the future, now that Joanne’s is out of business!
I made a phone call. Trying to purchase drape material for my daughters wedding. I explained my vision, estimated how much material I thought I would need, and they did the rest. It was perfect. Shipping was quick. Everything came out perfect. Thank you so much.
It cost more than the fabric to ship it. The website stated this was so it would not have creases or fold marks. It came in a mailing envelope folded and compressed to fit. It does have folded in creases that I have not been able to remove and will not be able to work around.
Terrible product, terrible customer service. I bought 10 oz duck fabric and after some extreme crocking, I washed it according to guidelines in the product listing. The color leached out and left light colored lines in the blue fabric. I contacted Ben, who curtly told me that returns were not accepted on altered material. He then ignored subsequent emails and phone calls. Buy anywhere but here!
I've ordered from BurlapFabric.com many times in the past which is partially why this time around has been so disappointing. I usually place large orders a few times per year but will not be ordering from them again. I was sent 10 yards of fabric that had been damaged due to the way it was packaged. I contacted the company about the issue multiple times and gave them ample time to respond but heard nothing back. I ended up having to file a PayPal dispute, which I have never had to do before. I did win the paypal dispute but beware that in such a case you will be required to pay the cost of return shipping, even if sent a defective item. Since the return shipping would cost almost the same as the product itself, I was not able to send it back and had to forfeit any refund. I am now stuck with many yards of unusable product and the company didn't even bother to answer my emails. Very unprofessional and upsetting to be treated that way after being a long time customer.
