My experience with CameRo has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.
My shipment was delayed by over a month compared to the original estimated delivery date. When the van doors were opened upon arrival, the condition of my belongings was shocking.
My expensive Italian designer sofa was not properly wrapped as explicitly requested and agreed. Instead, it was only partially covered with a dirty blanket and loaded with boxes, bikes, and chairs placed directly on top of it. It arrived stained and structurally damaged.
Several boxes were crushed and bent out of shape. One clearly marked “FRAGILE” had fallen over. My TV box was transported unsecured at an angle instead of upright or flat, increasing the risk of damage to the screen. Directional arrow markings on multiple boxes were ignored entirely.
To be clear, I do not blame the driver personally. He informed me the van had been poorly packed at the depot and mentioned he had been awake for 26 hours before delivery — something that is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on the company’s operational standards.
The issues continued with the claims process. Despite purchasing Enhanced Standard Liability coverage up to £8,000 and agreeing the sofa was covered for £3,250 (its discounted used value), we were initially offered just £50 for the damaged sofa. After a long and exhausting back-and-forth, this was increased to £230 — which is still pennies compared to the sofa’s actual value, the declared coverage amount, and the insurance purchased.
The replacement cover alone costs close to £2,900, making the offer feel not only inadequate but disrespectful.
Probably more like a 4.75. Truthfully, I chose this company because they came back with the cheapest quote, so I went into the agreement assuming I’d get service that matched it. I spoke with Julie at the start who gave me everything I needed to move my belongings to Germany. One person came to collect my belongings, but this wasn’t a problem as I was able to help. The guy who collected which really helpful. I hadn’t done the best job of protecting mirrors/mattresses etc and he was prepared with covers and blankets. It did take a couple of weeks longer than they’d originally quoted, but as I wasn’t in a rush (and got a bargain price) I was happy to accepted it. Could probably have been a little bit forthcoming with updates as I did get nervous at one point, but the team replied quickly to my emails and WhatsApp’s. Got a warning the day before delivery day, then everything was dropped off. One box was a bit wet on the outside, but nothing was damaged (even the mirrors I hadn’t covered). Again, it was just one guy dropping it off, but it was no bother. Will definitely use this company again!
I've used Came-Ro 3 times now, moving between the UK, Switzerland and France, and every time they've been exceptional. George and Mihai were the two guys who dropped off my stuff this time and were very efficient. The previous time was also George - the man has superhuman strength, I think he must juggle atlas stones in his spare time...
Steer well clear of this company if something goes wrong and they damage your stuff they will continuously fall back on their “terms and conditions” neglecting the fact that a companies t&c don’t trump UK law. They also hide negative reviews on google consistently and I was forced to take legal action in order to get a necessary refund. Absolute crooks.
Really great service between the UK and France. Julie was fantastic and politely answered my many emails by return. I’m rarely as impressed with customer service. The guys who collected and dropped off were also polite and friendly. I’d definitely use them again. Thank you!
Moved from London to Munich last month. Was it a mess? Absolutely, the most stressed I’d been in years. Came with 2 men for a 5 bedroom house and were constantly hours late, messed up my end of tenancy cleaning, and had to rebook my flight to Munich to accommodate. Upon arrival in Munich, the driver’s refused to offload my stuff until the full rest of payment was received, which was only communicated to me that very moment and meant I had to interrupt a work meeting to do a cross boarder wire transfer or else they’d keep my things hostage I guess. Did it work out in the end? Yes. Would I hire them again? No.
Everything arrived in perfect condition. Communication was excellent. Julie and Chloe were extremely helpful and always kindly replied to my endless questions.The driver, incredibly kind, was the same who collected (22 Sep) and delivered my goods (22 Oct).The delivery took one week longer than I expected, but I just accept that sometimes things don't go exactly as we wish and I still give 10 out of 10 and highly recommend this company. Thank you.
