It was very easy (and free) to set up an advert on the Cars & Classics site to sell my much loved Jaguar XJS.
I wasn't in any particular hurry to sell so the advert sayed up and active for a couple of months.
I had quite a few enquires over that time and the interest in the car was steady so I kept the advert alive.
The car sold in January for what I hoped to get for it.
I often take a look through the cars available on this site and it's a good place to look as people selling seem to be enthusiasts.
Purchasing a T1 Samba was a positive experience overall, with professional communication throughout. However, the payment process through the platform was quite frustrating. There were limited payment options available, accepting only pounds. The IBAN verification was problematic since it was generated by the customer, which made me uneasy about needing a foreign bank transfer to an unverified IBAN account, especially given the concerns surrounding the payment service online. Nonetheless, everything went smoothly in the end.
I used the free classified ad to sell a motorcycle. The online communication system between potential buyers and myself worked seamlessly. The features for adding photos and descriptions were excellent. Thank you for the service.
I have always appreciated the availability of buyer protection, and I'm now quite disheartened to see it removed from regular private classified sales. I would have bought a car currently listed if buyer protection had still been offered.
