This website is a joke. I’ve been trying to book a test for over seven months, and every Monday morning I’m stuck in a queue behind 16,000 bots and 1,000 real people.

When will this website start taking these scammers and bots seriously instead of letting them book tests before real people?

Frustrating Experience with Licence Return

After experiencing a brief memory loss (I was NOT unconscious), I handed over my licence to the relevant authority, stopped driving, and consulted a neurologist. Following tests and scans, I was diagnosed with transient epileptic amnesia and was deemed fit to drive again after a year without further episodes (the incident occurred on 13 September 2024). I requested the return of my licence on 13 September 2025, but four months later, I have heard nothing. I have called, written letters, and even escalated my concerns to the Transport Secretary and my local representative. The Secretary is 'extremely busy' and does not respond to those outside her constituency. My representative kindly contacted the new Chief Executive of the relevant authority, but there has been no follow-up. I submitted a subject access request, which revealed they haven't even reviewed my licence return. They also recorded incorrect information about me, and when I asked for corrections under GDPR, they refused! The negative reviews highlight the apparent incompetence of the authority, causing significant distress. The Transport Secretary's position should be reconsidered urgently. It seems the Chief Executive has already departed; perhaps I should apply for the role myself, as I could manage working from home with minimal hours and no correspondence—certainly an improvement!

Unresolved Direct Debit Issues

I traded my vehicle on 31st October 2025, yet three additional direct debits have been deducted from my account, totaling £200, despite the vehicle's tax status showing as untaxed from 1st November. I chatted with a representative who was helpful and escalated the issue for cancellation (I didn’t cancel it myself due to online advice), but was told it could take up to 6 weeks for a refund. It’s frustrating because if I owed road tax, I doubt I could say, 'I'll pay you in up to 6 weeks.'

Lost Documents with No Accountability

I never received my license, and when I followed up, they wanted me to pay £20 for a replacement because it was lost in the mail. So, the company loses my photo ID card, which is already alarming, and then expects me to cover the cost of getting a new one.

Ongoing Direct Debits After Vehicle Trade-In

I traded my vehicle on 31st October 2025, yet three more direct debits have been taken from my account, totaling £200, even though the car's tax status shows it as untaxed from 1st November. I chatted with an agent who was helpful and escalated the cancellation of the direct debit (I didn't do this myself as advised online), but I was told it could take up to 6 weeks for a refund. If the situation were reversed and I owed road tax, I doubt I could say, 'I'll pay you in up to 6 weeks.'

Frustrating Renewal Process

I have spent hours trying to renew my wife's license for over 70s. The new online system is frustrating, full of glitches, and requires tech skills that are not common among those over 70. The previous process I used in September worked fine. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Now, we'll have to renew by post, which is exactly what online processes are supposed to eliminate. It's no wonder government departments struggle with productivity.

Frustrating Tax Charges

I spoke with someone from the company who has been charging me road tax for four consecutive months after I sold my car. I provided all the necessary information, but they insisted it wasn't their fault. It's incredibly unfair how they handle these situations.

Service Has Declined

The company has lost its way. My last license renewal was handled reasonably, but this time, 10 weeks after submitting my application, it's still stuck in the medical department with no changes in my health. My wife's renewal was rejected because she reported having no symptoms due to modern electronic monitoring for low blood sugar. It's time to rethink how the medical department operates.

Excellent Experience

I had an excellent experience. I applied for my license renewal (over 70) on 21/12/25. It was processed on 22/12/25 and arrived by 29/12/25. I expected delays due to Christmas, but everything was completed online in just a few minutes.
