After my previous accountant was taken over by the company, I felt like just another customer, losing a relationship built over 30+ years. When I called, there was no recognition, and I had to explain my identity without being able to speak to the person handling my account except on certain days. Despite receiving less service, the fees increased significantly. I later discovered a long-standing error in our web-based marketing account, which resulted in incorrect VAT returns for eight years. This was not caught by the accountant, who then charged me extra for advising on how to correct the error. I've decided to hire a different accountancy firm at a much lower cost.
Extremely poor service from the company. Very dissatisfied customer. No communication, unprofessional behavior, and felt disregarded. I doubt the IT issues were responsible for the lack of payroll services. I should have been contacted; it shouldn't have been my responsibility to chase after the office, which had been closed for over a week. If the situation was as dire as described, the representative I spoke with should have been informed and able to advise me. There should have been a message on the out-of-office voicemail to ease concerns for those wondering about their payroll. Payroll services should be timely, regardless of the holiday or IT failures. My staff work hard and deserve to be paid on time. I'm appalled at the complete lack of care shown towards my business.
