Excellent auction house ! Really paying attention to details. Excellent customer service and very responsive to all my questions. I was lucky to win the bid on a symbolist 19th century painting. In particular I would like to mention Ellie Smith who has been wonderful to deal with. Her knowledge in 19th century paintings is impressive. She has been extremely pleasant and fast in addressing all my concerns and questions. The web is also very good and it worked very well for me.
Chiswick is the gem of London auction houses. I bought my painting many years ago at another well known auction house. When it came time to sell the other place was unresponsive. What made the experience with Chiswick extraordinary was Ellie. She responded promptly the first day I contacted Chiswick with very helpful information and encouragement. At every phase of this process she has been invaluable — responding promptly to my questions, making arrangements to pick my painting up, researching the provenance, writing an excellent description, keeping me well-informed of everything. She also explained how the process would work and the efforts that would be made to market the painting so that I knew I was in the best hands. I was delighted at the conclusion when the painting sold for almost double the high estimate. So now Chiswick is my auctioneer of choice and I will go straight to Ellie the next time I want to buy or sell.
A great experience from start to finish of my Coulson painting purchase. In fact the in house packing and posting was an art in itself, just superb. I would recommend this auction house without any hesitation whatsoever. 10/10.
After making a hash of bidding on-line for an item I was very keen to acquire, I phoned the auction house and was put in touch with Tracey who managed to put things right very quickly and efficiently with the minimum of fuss.After being successful I had occasion to make an enquiry concerning payment on the shipping requirements, which she also sorted out. I was impressed and thankful for such a friendly and helpful service. Excellent work.
I contacted Chiswick Auctions to arrange a phone call back as I didn’t want to miss my lot. Explained to Katy the lot number and asked the rough time of the lot. After she had helped me I put the phone down and realised not only had I given her the wrong lot number but also I wasn’t going to be in at that time and could she change the number to a friends number. Katy did it in stride, not only that but telling me there would be no problem at all. She was right, I won the lot. Thank you Katy, you’re a credit to your company. Richard
This was my first time selling with Chiswick Auctions and I can safely say it was a positive experience from start to finish. Working with Raphaelle was so easy and professional. She took the time to assess each of my pieces and provided me a thoughtful and well-researched valuation. Once a price was agreed, she handled all of the pre-auction preparations including the catalogue listing and photos. There was a clear line of communication throughout and I was very happy with the resulting sale.
