Review Time
I am glad I had the roof insulation installed. It was unfortunate we had the heatwave after the insulation and I needed to use a fan to keep the conservatory cooler but I am pleased with the results good workmanship. Now could use the conservatory most of the time
Very helpful, friendly and polite people throughout the whole process. Dawn who did the survey and quote was most informative as well . The guys doing the installation were on time, friendly and courteous. They have done a very good job to my conservatory roof. The ceiling looks good and is doing a very good job in keeping things a lot cooler during this heat wave . Well done and thanks to all.
I was impressed with this company and the product. I have to admit, I was somewhat sceptical. I have a very large south-west facing conservatory and it was SO hot, in summer it was totally unusable on so many days and the glare was something else, too, so no work on a laptop even on a cooler day. I had other quotes from other people that came in 3x times more expensive - which I rejected. A friend recommended Conservandsave and I called them out to quote. I was impressed with Sarah who came in to explain the product, no pressure, no sharp sales tactics, only total confidence in the product that was so clear to see, I was persuaded. So glad I did - the day after the installation I had a conservatory that was usable. Yes, it still gets warm on very hot days. But not to the point of feeling like you are cooking inside which makes you want to run out of that space asap. I dont think anything will stop that fully - I will get new blinds and probably add light-reflecting film next year, with 12 windows to deal with, there is a lot of light still going through. Overall, I now have a usable room, less noise from the rain, and definitely no glare. Happy. There were plastic shavings out in the garden left after the installation which was a pain. I had to hoover the patio, just so you know. I think that putting some sheets down when they did the cutting would have reduced the micro plastic pollution. I get that it is tricky out in the open especially if windy, but there must be some sort of way to improve on the plastics left behind.
We are very pleased with our conservatory internal roof. Throughout all the recent very hot weather the temperature has remained tolerable, not going over 26 degrees. We have been able to use the seating area quite comfortably whereas the room was completely "unfit for purpose" before it was installed. all staff from start to finish, extremely nice and efficient people. So glad we used your company.
Regret having this doneI thought I would give some feedback which might help others as they make their decision – as always hindsight is a wonderful thing. When someone comes to quote you, you will find you have to sign up on the day as there is no other method to do this, they cannot do it online or by email I was told. People should be made aware of this before the booking a quote. You get 14 days to change your mind, but you will have had to have paid a deposit. I was assured that the installation date would be about four weeks away, I got a call the next day offering it in a matter of days, which of course I did not have to accept, but this meant I had to confirm the cancellation of the 14 days review time. I would always be weary of a company who did not have future bookings (should have cancelled at this point). Be aware they do not carry out any type of survey on your roof (other than a look from ground level and giving a personal opinion). You might want someone to actually check the roof prior to having the insulation fitted.I said during my quote “surely the heat is just going to come through the 2 walls of glass/windows” and I was assured that this would not be the case and that I was just not aware how much heat comes through the roof. Update - I had two cloudy dull days since so not a lot to mention, a cloudy start today eventually got up to 22°c outside, when I came home at 3:00 PM it was 33°c - so this is no better than before and indeed the heat was pummelling in through the windows as I said! I had obviously considered that having the insulation fitted would take some light out of the Conservatory. I had completely misjudged this and sadly now my kitchen and dining room are very dark and dingy whereas they were bright and light, I am so dissapointed. On the day the “team” (as stated in the contract) were supposed to arrive at 8/8.30am. I had a call saying that the van had broken down and that they were doing everything they could to get to me. One person turned up at 11:30, admitting there would normally be 2 people. He said he would be finished by 4 -4.30 ish. This is a very noisy process with cutting etc and the fitter grunted and groaned all through the day, it was clearly hard to do on his own. He finished at 7.30pm, that was a long day for him….. and me!At 3pm he had to leave an hour to go and buy bits he had forgotten. He came back with a schoolboy, still in uniform, I was not asked about this. I had agreed with the salesperson that the ceiling fan, would be removed, I then had to confirm this again when booking in the fitting (people keep saying are you sure??). The fitter took the fan out and put it on my kitchen worktop which I thought was a bizarre place to put this large fan. So, I put it out the front by his van as I was assured they would take it away. Then when I was called into the conservatory I found he had fitted it back again and said nobody had told him it was not going back. So, the whole middle panel had to come out and be replace. This same panel came out again, with loads of others when I mentioned the poor cutting and how it was filled with sealant. They offered to go to the shop and buy something to go round it and I requested it was cut properly. I did give my feedback on bits that I thought were messy and poorly cut, which then resulted in several phone calls to the office with the fitter keep referring to me as “she” and “her” on his speakerphone and to the schoolboy. I was very annoyed and said I am Janet or the customer…..he really has little understanding of good communication. On 2 occasions the schoolboy also spoke up with his opinion on the situation???? The office had to call the fitter and tell him to send the schoolboy away????So, all in all, I really regret having it done, had a thoroughly horrid experience with the fitting and would not recommend this company to anyone. Check out their reviews by date and see how many recent ones there are. Think through:How much light will you lose? Will it really make any difference, when you have walls of glass/windows letting in the heat? I have found out since, my neighbour had had his glass treated (as they do in hotter countries) and is very pleased with this. The sale rep told me this was useless, seems like it might have been a better option for me. To be honest I said that the day had been unacceptable and that they needed to pay some compensation and I was told that they had done absolutely nothing wrong (the schoolboy??) and they would stay there until it was sorted. I asked for them to come back another day and finish it as I had had enough by 5.30pm and they declined. They didn't finish to a standard that was acceptable to me….. but I had to accept it, I couldn't take anymore by 7.30pm, I needed him to leave, they will stay and finish it and make sure you pay that day.
