Consumer reports reviewed LG as a top appliance company. How can this be? LG has had a known compressor problem for years and LG is no longer servicing this product but rather LG is forcing customers to take it to arbitration. Shame on LG and shame on consumer reports for not sharing this information. It's not how shiny an appliance is when it's new but rather how many LG customers are stuck with a POS fridge. Read about LGs linear compressors for the true story. I question CR other product reporting.
I was looking at home security cameras on CR. After reading their assessment for their highest rated model I went to Amazon and read the reviews from customers who purchased that model. They were all one star ratings and customers said the product was junk and would not recommend buying it.
I bought a Consumer Reports subscription for 21.40 (special pricing for all sorts) After trying to get online to use it after setting up the account password I couldn't access the database that they advised I could. I canceled the subscription. I requested a refund of the 21.40. I had been a member for approximately 90 minutes. I was told my refund would be pro-rated to 17.00 since they had already sent out the Aug/Sep magazine issues. The CC payment wasn't even processed the next day. After I raised a stink with the 17.00 I found that the following day a "refund of 14.98 was to be processed Not 17.00 NOT 21.40. Neither the payment nor the refund shows "PROCESSED" two days later on my CC??.
Online membership cannot be cancel ahead of time or you lose your access immediately. So if you wait until and miss the date by one day the charge you again and if you cancel you lose an entire month. So it cost me two months to just get one month worth of service.
I recommend not doing solar panel work with solenergy. Almost two years my landlord signed us up for them . January 2023 they came and put them up. March/April of 2023 they became activated however my bill kept coming and hers was the only one that stopped. she continued to reach out to the sales rep that had every excuse under the sun for why he couldn't talk or not return her calls. So I wrote a review on their page and finally got a response that way . November/December of 2023 the sales rep decided that he would start paying my bill until he could get an electrician here to hook me up to the panels that I am not hooked to for some reason. landlord was told it would be right after the first of the year. It is now may 2024 and I have had issues with him the last two months ignoring me and coming up with excuses as to why he is not sending me bill money when he says he is going to . Today he told me that setting up a time for someone to come hook me up to solar is not his field of work so he would have to connect us to that department. Needless to say I have an email from a higher up that states if we have an issue we are supposed to talk to him not the company. So if you want solar panels and to actually be hooked up and running from them do not go with solenergy.
Vivid Seats. Bought tickets to a performance in Florida when I showed my ticket at the box office I was told they never do business with Vivid. I had to buy a new ticket at the box office. After the show I checked my charge card the ticket for $125. was charged, plus an insurance vendor applied $16. they called Event Insurance that Vivid instructed this company to add in case I had an emergency during the performance. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..... VIVID SEATS
Consumer Reports has apparently sold out their reputation in favor of money! Always proud of the fact that CR would never be used to promote a brand or product you’ll now here first Subaru, now kia are stating openly that one car or another is “ a consumer reports “ best buy” or that it rates highest in safety. I have been a member of “ Consumers Union” for over ten years and, if this truly is a change in policy I never voted for it or approved it. It appears that the consumer board has gone rouge and just gone ahead with this decision on their own without consultation of is loyal membership. Shame on you CR
I was just totally scammed by this site and they charged me for something that I didn't even receive the service on and it is a horrible misleading site that sucks you in with misrepresenting the actual content of the application and the fact that they would not refund the charge for a service that was never received and they are supposed to be the best place to get info on other products etc? Would not recommend the site to anyone waste of time and money
