I signed up for credit monitoring that verified with Transunion by entering card info. Nowhere did it say I was starting a recurring membership, or a free trial.
Afterwards, I had an email with a plain text password in it (red flag) and I used it to log in, wasn't very impressed, closed it and forgot about it.
A week later I have a $34.95 charge from "CVERIFY", it didn't take long to figure out what happened. The disclosure was way down in the password reset email, nobody would ever read this whole thing, but what's important is they're disclosing fees after taking your card info. This is theft.
I tried to cancel, but you have to call them. So I called and spoke with a rep who was really not that great at sounding surprised. I was put on hold for 2-3 minutes several times while she "checked the account", there was a lot of pushback on getting a refund, but it was eventually promised and the money went back on my card the next day (she told me standard 7-10 business days).
One star for scamming money off peoples cards without proper disclosure, plus one star for actually processing the refund as promised.

Update!! January 30th 2026.PayPal informed me they are going to investigate this shady operation, and ban them if they are found to violate the rules.I'm 100% confident they will. YEAH!!!! 😅 .Why hasn't PayPal banned these thieves?!Why has "BestPlay" been supporting them?I just got a surprise charge for almost $40 and am mad as He.. double hokey sticks!
THIEVES. I never signed up for an account with this company. After contacting the company to report fraud, they did not reverse the charges made to my bank account. To top off the fraud, they turned around and continued charging my bank account. No amount of fussing with these thieves stopped them. THIEVES.
Didnt realized this company takes more than a dollar out before they took more money out of my account. I immediately canceled once I realized what had happened but they are still taking money out of my account. They should be shut down immediately.
This company is misleading. It makes out at first you get a free credit score and then wants your credit card information. I think they and Transunion are ripoff companies. trying to hose you with monthly fees that are available for free from other companies.I have sent an email making sure that they will not be billing my credit card since I did not complete the application once I realized it was for a trial to a subscription, They still have not responded back to me.Update, I received an email that went to my spam this morning from Credit verify stating I had made an incomplete application. The reason I was concerned was because of other people's complaints of being charged on their credit card after a 7 day trial and having problems cancelling or getting refunded. I wanted assurance in writing that I would not be receiving any charge on my credit card for a trial I did not complete the application process.
