Our experience with the company was very positive until the last couple of weeks. The reservation process and early interactions with the customer service team were smooth. We moved in at the end of November, but in early January, a pipe burst and caused significant flooding in our home. While we accept responsibility for the tap freezing, independent plumbers confirmed that the pipe was improperly fitted, making it the main cause of the issue. - The out-of-hours support team was helpful during the leak incident, advising us on how to handle the situation. When we returned home that evening, we found our downstairs flooded. - The damage requires extensive repairs, including new flooring and other essentials. - That evening, the customer relations manager assured us that all damaged items would be replaced and that dehumidifiers would be sent to assist with drying out the space. - A plumber from a contractor visited the next day to fix the pipe, and another representative promised dehumidifiers would arrive. However, the plumber also mentioned that similar issues had occurred at other properties, which he later retracted. - A meeting with multiple representatives was held, and they denied any responsibility for the faulty installation despite agreeing to review the independent plumber's report. - I verified that other empty properties in the area had not been drained and faced no issues, contrary to what was claimed. - Finally, we received one dehumidifier six days after the leak. - Today, we were informed that the company would not accept responsibility for the damage. - Additionally, there were smaller issues, such as contractors blocking our driveway and unfinished snagging reports. The company has not upheld its values and has left my pregnant fiancé in a damp environment, likely to develop mold soon. What was supposed to be our dream home has turned into a nightmare due to construction quality and poor customer service. It seems that once significant costs arose, they quickly distanced themselves from the issue. Consider carefully before purchasing from this company; it appears that profit is prioritized over customer care.
The following statement can be seen at Trustpilot dated May 14,2025. As my ploblem has not been entirely solved, and it has been a long long time, that is why I post here to share with those who want to buy a property from Crest Nicholson." I sent an email to the customer service of Crest Nicholson regarding the problem of leaking water of my ensuite bathroom in November 2024. At the beginning, their service was indeed very efficient and responsive. However, the problem seemed not yet resolved. The amtico tiles near the door of en-suite had been swelling. I attached the video to show how seriously the swelling was on Feb 05, 2025. Technicians attended my home on 25 February to inspect and rectify how and why the water was leaking and made the floor swelling. I was told that the water was leaking underneath the floor of bathroom to the tiles near the door of ensuite, causing the swell of Amtico. Unfortunately, I was not in England for more than 30 days, they couldn't come to my house to fix the problem.I informed the customer service of CN on April 14 when I was back to England. During the time between April 14 to May 12, no one came to my house althought I made 4 telephone calls and emails were sent 3 times to customer service of CN. I was told on the phone that someone would call me the following day, actually no one contacted me. I can't tolerate anymore today as I was informed last Friday again on the phone that some one would contact me. So far, I was very disappointed with the service of Crest Nicholson. "The story goes on. On May 30, 2025, a handyman came to my house eventually to look into the problem of leaking water in my bathroom of en-suite. He removed the bricks at the bottom and believed that the water went into the cracks of the wall. He removed the shower screen and informing me that he has to wait for the bricks coming back, then he left. No one has come to my house to fix the problem nor a single message telling me what is going on until June 10, 2025. That day, they re-did the bottom half of the tiles and re-fitted the shower screen and made good the frame and door. During that period, I couldn't use my bathroom having shower. Later the tiles of the ensuite floor was also removed in July and I had to wait for 50 days for the return of the new tiles coming back. On September 10, my en-suite flooring was eventually replaced. At that time, only several swelling tiles near the ensuite in my master-room were unfinished. Crest Nicholson promised to do it once the quotation of the tiles and cost of the flooring works were decided. It has been several months, so far, nobody has come to contact me. Although I made 6 telephone calls and sent several emails to customer service of CN, I just recieved a reponse to wait for their calling back. Actually, they never call back.
We would never have bought this house had we been told the truth. When reserving our plot, we made it explicitly clear that we did not want to live on a building site. We were assured we would move in around October and that all building work would be finished by spring (March). On that basis, we reserved and proceeded with the purchase. Over a year later, work is still ongoing. Our key collection was chaotic and stressful. Contractors were still working inside the house, sealing edges and fixing flooring, and work next door resulted in our garage being blocked. This was made even harder as we moved in with a 4-week-old baby.Since moving in, living here has been nothing but unpleasant due to constant disruption: • Contractors blocking our drive almost daily, causing delays to work and baby appointments • Loud music, shouting and early-morning arrivals (before 8am) • Constant dirt, mud and concrete dust covering our house, windows and drive • Contractors mixing materials directly outside our living room • Trespassing on our drive, cigarette ends and spitting outside our home • Rubbish blowing around the site • Contractors and people parking on our drive, then being unable to find the person to get them to move it. Often making us late to workDespite repeated complaints, action has only been taken reactively and far too late. Promised regular external and driveway cleans never happened, and responsibility has repeatedly been deflected back onto residents rather than properly managing contractors. We now feel we were misled at point of sale and pressured into buying early with inaccurate completion times. Crest’s customer service responses consistently minimise the issues and fail to address the impact already caused. This experience has affected our enjoyment of our home, our mental health, and our trust in Crest as a developer. We strongly caution anyone considering buying on a Crest development to get everything in writing and expect long-term disruption, regardless of what you are told before you reserve.
Just wanted to give Steph Johnson a shoutout, she is currently based at the Saffron Fields development. She’s been absolutely brilliant guiding our daughter and her boyfriend from the very 1st meeting showing them what was available and helping them with moving forward as 1st time buys. She’s gone above and beyond on working past her finish time and being on the end of the phone or email with any questions they have. Nothing is too much trouble and her friendliness and warmth is so genuine. It’s so good to know they have Steph there helping them in this massive step of buying their first home together. Also seeing how well the development is run and what a beautiful job they are all doing.
Excellent customer service from the team, specifically Melissa at the Windsor Gate Office. She took us through the process end to end and made it all very simple and clear. Thank you again and we look forward to completing the journey.
