Wow I’m very surprised by all the 1 stars reviews. I’ve been with DCU since 2002. They have always treated me with curiosity and respect! Even last year, which was the worst year of my life, they helped me catch up on my accounts I was behind on. They are truly what a bank should be for its customers. I only wish they had more branches spread out MA. But I’m ok driving one hour every now and then to visit them! Keep up the great work guys! Happy new year!!!
I was pre approved for a loan and was trying to finalize it for 2 months. The entire process was a joke. I submitted required documents and had to call them each time. Moreover, after submitting documents, they always requested additional documents one by one. Each agent also gave me a different response. It took me 2 months of calling them and them requesting additional documents which added more time. I was finally denied because apparently the information couldn't be verified and there were inconsistencies after submitting paystubs, payroll, w2, and even my bank statement. Frustrated by process, I tried RBFCU, and bam. It took me 2 days to finalize everything and receive the loan. 2 days! Entire process was seamless and they asked all the necessary documents at once. Nothing more was required and never had to call them once. Their agents reviewed everything in a timely manner. Everything requested was processed always within a business day. DCU completely sucks.
Horrible service. Every customer service agent gives a different answer. I have wasted so much time with DCU just trying to get my car title after having paid off my loan over 8 months ago. I will never use DCU again, and recommend against using it to anyone considering it.
Disgusting business that does not properly disclose information prior to beginning loan applications. They did not disclose that I would be required to submit 2 years of my tax returns and 1099s prior to submitting the application. Called me after they ran my credit and had me submit my most recent pay stubs just to tell me that my pay stubs (THAT PROVE MY INCOME!!!!) are not acceptable and that I would be required to provide the previously mentioned documents. They ran a hard inquiry on my credit without telling me I would be required to provide those documents. My pay stubs I'm fine with providing, as that is pretty normal, but I'm not giving you my personal tax returns. God only knows what a disgusting non-disclosing business like this will do with my private financial information. Heck, after I submitted the application, I requested a copy of my application, and they denied me a copy of my own application. TBH, I'm glad they aren't becoming a lender for me now, but I'm absolutely livid about the hard inquiry. Oh, and also, I refrained from using profanity in this because that's how businesses that receive bad reviews get them removed. Just know I'm absolutely beyond pissed and want to use lots of profanity to describe this business's practices, but won't because I want this review to stay online to warn others not to use this company for any reason.
UPDATE: It has been a month since they allowed TWELVE duplicate charges on my account. Two weeks later they refunded me ONE of the TWELVE charges. They still owe me almost $400 but think I should wait another 2-3 weeks for them to correct the mistake in correcting their mistake. WOW. Time to move all of my checking (two), savings (three) and loan (two) accounts to a credit union that ISN'T trying to be Bank of America.Fraud protection is non existent. Staff is incompetent and at times rude.These guys let 12 duplicate charges go through within an hour costing me over $400, then they only refund me ONE charge, have to re file the claim, and tell me I can wait another 2-3 weeks for the return of my money. No instant return granted because I should just use my savings to cover it. WHAT?!?!I have multiple accounts as well as loans here and have been a customer over a decade. This is a horrible way to treat a customer, not to mention I have to call to get updates every week. NOT ONE PERSON has called to update or follow up. This is credit union service? No, this is a big box bank now, and it is CLEARLY time to take my $ elsewhere.
