The agents that assisted me was very professional. The company has a very good service delivery. I am really glad I chose Dept Busters to assist me through this journey.
I did not apply for debt review. I was flagged WITHOUT my knowledge (Debt Busters was the company that assisted the person involved) I have been phoning back and forth and since 2025 the matter has not been resolved. The credit bureaus does not want to assist me due to the fact that I am not a debt review company. Every time I phone I have to explain my situation to the person answering the call and then I speak to an agent promising to resolve the matter, but NOTHING is sorted. I am unfairly flagged and Debt Busters does not care
I recently started with the service, but the negative reviews I'm seeing are making me second-guess my decision. Most of the feedback aligns with my concerns, which only heightens my suspicions. I would appreciate a response, as my emails have gone unanswered.
Let me share my experience with this service. Initially, agents are quick to respond when you need to submit documents, but the wait for a clearance certificate can range from 1 to 15 days. Complaints take about 15 business days to address. It’s surprising how prompt they are in taking your money, yet when you need help, the response time drastically increases. Agents might promise a quick turnaround for certificates, but when you follow up, you’re told it will actually take longer. This feels misleading! I strongly advise against trusting this service, as they seem to avoid responsibility for their commitments.

Filing NCR complaint. Not recommended.
The debt review process has been excessively slow. I engaged the service to remove paid-up and prescription accounts from debt review. Despite submitting required documents multiple times, I was given unrealistic timelines—10 business days for verification and 21 for removal of flags. Communication was inconsistent: one representative claimed no ticket was issued, while another assured everything would be documented. These unnecessary delays reflect poorly on their operations. I have lodged a formal case with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) due to these issues. Clients should be aware that even with correct documentation, the process may take longer than legally acceptable. I urge the service to improve and comply with the National Credit Act, as prolonged delays impact clients’ financial wellbeing.
My experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. Since signing up in June 2025, communication has been poor and follow-through lacking. Calls and emails often go unanswered, while fees continue to be deducted. I’ve sent over 30 emails and made countless calls trying to resolve basic issues. The consultant who signed me up assured me meaningful debt relief would be secured, despite my bond being unlikely to be reduced. This was dismissed, and I was misled into proceeding. My assigned negotiator ignored key information, resulting in a higher repayment and interest rate. Additionally, she failed to ensure payments were made, causing two creditors to cancel my arrangements. Emails to her went unanswered for long periods, and she later admitted that important matters had been “overlooked.” Despite a lengthy call with another representative, I received vague responses shifting responsibility back to me. I followed up with the bank and learned they sent a proposal without response from the service. Overall, this experience raises serious concerns about fairness and accountability. I advise others to approach the service with caution.
My experience with the service has been excellent from the start. There was a small misunderstanding with my consultant due to delays in email responses, causing us to miss our first installment. However, once a manager got involved, everything was clearly explained and we understood the next steps. The support from management made a significant difference. Communication is key, and overall we are satisfied with the service.
