Poor customer service following a three day delayed delivery of freshly baked scones! Wish I'd read the other one star reviews as many others have had the same thing happen.
I bought the prosecco cream tea for my best friend's birthday, with nominated delivery on a Friday. Something went wrong with the DHL delivery and it not only missed the Friday delivery slot but wasn't delivered until Monday, despite Saturday being a delivery date available on the Devon Heaven website. This meant that both the surprise and quality of the gift was completely ruined.
I contacted the company the day after the missed delivery explaining my disappointment and they replied promptly although the email stated the scones would be "perfectly safe to consume" (safe, maybe, but not fresh) and to contact them again once delivery took place.
I contacted them again yesterday and, despite the fact they must have recompense with DHL, they said they were "unable" to offer a refund on my order. Why? They said they wanted to put things right and offered for extra scones to be sent, but what's the point when the birthday has been missed? Why not just offer me the refund I should have been given and keep a customer, especially when they should be getting something back from DHL? It's even more disappointing now that I can see others have been offered refunds for delayed deliveries according to reviews on here. Why am I a less important customer?
Really poor service.

The Afternoon Tea for One was delicious, the contents were very generous, it arrived exactly when I was told it would, (Christmas Eve, am) and was in excellent condition. It made a lovely start to my Christmas, when my lovely dog and I were on our own.If there is someone alone, who needs cheering up, I would thoroughly recommend Devon Heaven's Cream Tea for One, and I am certain that their other Cream Tea Hampers will be of equal quality.
On reading the reviews decided to go with this company. Ordered a hamper for my disabled mother, and requested a specific day for delivery. Which was today ( Tuesday ). Had an update in the morning letting me know that the hamper was now on the van and out for delivery, which would arrive between 17.30.to 19.30. At 17.51 I recieved an email letting me know my mother's package was now back at the depot waiting for delivery. Not at all happy. And wouldn't want my elderly mother eating any of the goods that has spent another day travelling around the county. UPDATE. Recieved an email stating the parcel was now back out for delivery again. Only after following the parcel all day, at 17.30.pm parcel was still on its way. By 18.01 parcel was now back at the delivery depot. What the he'll is going on with this delivery. Will now request a refund as goods are now not fit for purpose. Order no: 248957. REFUNDED NOW. THANKYOU
Well after seeing all the great reviews on Trustpilot I purchased two afternoon teas for Christmas gifts. They where supposed to have arrived last sat. 13,th. Well nothing arrived and I have now left 4 emails as you can not get through on the phone. So if I could get through yo anyone I would like my money back. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
We had a hamper sent us as a gift & we’re well impressed with the quality & freshness of the contents. These included scones, fruit cake, apple & jam slice, cream, jam, fudge and tea bags. They were well packed & cream was in a refrigerated pack & was still edible after 5 days! A fabulous afternoon tea experience. We will definitely use Devon Heaven for future gift packs.
A Heaven-Sent Gift for My Mum!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service and Quality ordered a cream tea hamper from Devon Heaven as a surprise for my mother, who lives in Devon but recently had a bad fall and broken her shoulder. As I couldn't be there in person, I wanted to send a local, indulgent treat to lift her spirits—and I honestly couldn't have chosen a better company. From my perspective as the sender, the service was flawless. The ordering process was smooth, and knowing I was sending her something truly local made the gift feel so much more personal. The feedback from my mother was that the hamper was beautifully presented. When you're recovering and struggling with movement, a little bit of luxury and effort in packaging makes a huge difference, and Devon Heaven clearly excels at presentation. Most importantly, the food was delicious! The scones were incredibly fresh, and the clotted cream and jam were the perfect high-quality Devon treats. This wasn't just a delivery; it was a perfect, comforting gift that arrived exactly when it was needed. Thank you, Devon Heaven, for delivering sunshine and deliciousness right to her door. I highly recommend you to anyone looking to send a quality gift to a loved one in the South West!
