Good overall service but I did have some friction. They were helpful in trying to get me into the right size garment I was looking for, but ultimately they recommended a size that was too small. They gladly exchanged it, but I had to pay to ship the garment back to them. It was a large bulky item and fairly expensive to ship. I tried to argue that they chose the size based on my measurements, so they should pay for return shipping. But they only pointed to the return policy stated somewhere on their website. Bad on me for not checking that, and double bad for letting them recommend a size for me. I'll probably buy from them in the future, since overall they are a good shop. But I doubt I'll buy any garments from them ever again.Update 2019/01/14: Mike, the owner, contacted me directly after his response below. We discussed the details and I'm very pleased with his efforts to correct my relatively minor complaint. Most places, and indeed most scuba shops, would never go to this length to make it right with a remote customer like me. I bought a first stage from them and It was not used for the first three years because it was my backup. It also came with a five year free annual service. I called them to get it serviced since I was now using it going into the fourth year and they told me, it has to be serviced every year regardless if you used it or not to get the free service. Wow
Products are great and so is their customer service. Their employees know diving and have been great at answering questions and making suggestions. I like that I can get Fourth Element from them. The sizes were too small but returns are easy.
I purchased a Drysuit online from Dive Right In on 30 Oct 18. Prior to purchasing I called to confirm how long it would take to complete the order. I was assured it would be less than 6 weeks and usually in a month. This was important because I had a trip planned 8 weeks from when I ordered the suit. At 5 weeks I called for an update- was told it would be shipped soon. At 6 weeks called again- told it would be shipped soon. Finally emailed on 21 Dec told the suit would arrive 28 Dec. Suit finally arrived on 3 Jan 2019. Dive In knew I needed the suit ASAP but shipped it the slowest method. Had to rent a suit on my trip. Overall a lousy experience and poor customer service. Stick to in store purchases.
I purchased a Light Monkey 15aH 32W vari focus-able LED canister light from DRIS at significant savings. The light was on sale during the Christmas sales event. The light is beautifully constructed, rugged and will provide years of reliable service. This kind of high- end dive light(s) rarely see a mark down from posted online sellers. DRIS offered an incredible deal and the light was sent direct from the manufacturer promptly. During the sale, I called DRIS to ask questions, and recieved fantastic, prompt responses, both voice and via email. I recommend them and will do business with them again.
I ordered some dry-suit long underwear and a noise maker for my wife for Christmas. I selected 3-day delivery and after about a week I decided something must be wrong. Upon opening a service ticket it was explained to me that my order was put on hold due to the need to validate my dive certification. Once I was able to do that the order was process in an expeditious manner to ensure it was under the tree prior to Christmas. The customer service was great, but if there is some requirement necessary to placing an order it would of be great if that requirement was supplied or at least had someone follow up with me... instead of me having to initiate the request.
As always DRIS has made me feel like I was the only customer they had. I had an issue and needed a part for a class in a quick manner.THEY DID IT!! I called placed the order without any problem and they had it shipped to me almost immediately.Great place to get your gear, equipment or parts.
