TLDR:- backend BodyCommerce features: AWESOME- Divi Engine modules: TERRIBLE- Support: sub parDisclaimer: I'm not a "real" web dev. Just a humble marketer who likes to build websites with Divi... and it should go without saying that many divi users are like me - are ready to learn bits of the coding trade, but "noob" enough to need a page builder.I found Divi Engine's BodyCommerce plugin looking for tools I could add to my Divi arsenal - specifically, a way to customize the login/register page with Divi.Okay anyways... let's focus on what this plugin does well first. First praises, then critiques.Praise #1BodyCommerce lets you replace some default woocommerce/wordpress urls. And it's an INCREDIBLE tool for this. I don't even know how to mess with php or set custom divi pages to these default login/account page urls.... without divi engine, I wouldn't be able to customize my site the way I have. Praise #2Adding to "praise #1" above, the options to further customize your divi site... are pretty insane. The divi theme builder itself is extremely powerful. But DiviEngine is like the theme builder on steroids. The potential here is crazy. BodyCommerce could be a game changer that EVERY Divi user absolutely needs...But...It's buggy. Like, REAALLLY buggy.Critique #1If you're comfortable with your current caching plugin or performance settings in Divi, you're in for a world of change. DiviEngine conflicts with almost everything, and the fix to this (that they recommend) is turning off most of your performance settings. Now admittedly, like I stated earlier, I'm NOT a bonafide web dev. I buy premium plugins to help me achieve my goals. But I've purchased and used enough plugins to understand the "normal" amount of conflict with wordpress sites. The bugs & errors and known issues DiviEngine has published on their support portal are substantial. I appreciate them being open about these errors and offering guides to fix them, but again, many of these solutions require you to completely shelf your current divi compatible caching and speed plugins.Critique #2The support is... spotty. You will wait upwards of three days to hear back from support staff, and when the do get back to you... they won't answer questions completely and give very generic responses. Or they say they don't understand the problem after you send 15 minutes of loom videos... very frustrating.I recently asked a pretty generic question, and the first answer after three days was, "give me your login details so we can assess the situation"... like... what situation? Please just answer my question and THEN we can escalate this to something bigger where you need to login if necessary.Critique #3There's no reason to have a discord profile if it's not being used. I understand this isn't their main support line, but Divi Engine should be a bit more active to their community if this option is available. I posted some questions and concerns with some bugs a week ago, and not one person responded. And I'm actually starting to try and answer some other users questions on discord now... since the divi engine team isn't active.Critique #4The provided modules with BodyCommerce are buggy, incomplete, or don't work at all...and many also don't work without extensive CSS modifications in divi... and again, I use divi because I'm NOT a dev. This defeats the purpose entirely. I spent like six hours customizing my login and account pages the other day because the modules barely worked (normally with standard divi modules, I could get this done in an hour or less)Now to be fair, the co-founder of DiviEngine, Peter, DID respond to an email I sent a while back about this. And he did say he would provide updates in the futureBut later when I tried to give the devs a more extensive bug list, I was ignoredCompared to divi supreme, DonDivi, DiviPlus, and other popular divi modules, Divi Engine's are EASILY the WORST by far... by a landslideThe more I use Divi Engine modules, the more I see how quickly they were thrown together and how few updates and care they receiveAnd here's the last thing...I wouldn't have posted this review AT ALL if I would have just received an acknowledgement of some of these issues. The cherry on top is the recent support I received where I waited three days only to only hear back "give me your login details" instead of getting a basic answer to my question with a reason as to why a login is neededThis is honestly such a cool tool. It has potential. The team is just... I don't know, "not there" I guess? You get good and bad support with everything. Other plugin devs have given me sub par support in the past. But it always evens out with good support, and their modules actually workNot gonna buy the lifetime unlimited license like I planned unless things change 😢
Divi Engine makes the best plugins for Divi - period! Their support is amazing and you feel like being a part of a family. They really care! And that's the most important thing. It doesn't matter who you talk to - their CEO Peter, or a "new guy" in support - they are so helpful, nice and very passionate about their products!
This plugin enables me to apply the styles I want to our online store and handles a lot of features greatly. There were some issues from time to time however, whenever an issue came up the support team has beenable to help us get rid of any issue we come across.
