Signed up and paid CA$15+, thinking it will help me communicate with possible clients due to the sites limited correspondence to just 3 between applicant and clients. This only shows its a money making scheme and not really helping both parties in need. Can't even make phone calls as phn numbers are not registered and clients don't really check their messages. And with every email sent to me for notice of New family being selected for me, who are they that we can contact for possible work? Why don't you post who are they so we can immediately make contact. Its not hard to organise for that new post/entry to be on top of the page for nurses and caregivers to see so they don't have to scroll down and see old posts every single time.

I made an account with eldercare and had someone contact me yesterday. They offered me a job starting the next day for 6 hours a day for 10 days. They contacted me using 2 different phone numbers one from Canada and 1 from the USA. They wanted to pay me upfront for the 10 days without meeting me. Beware of scammers!!!
I have just made an account with eldercare.com and my first 2 "clients" emailed me with immediate jobs starting tomorrow and one was even willing to pay all cash up front for 6 hrs a day and 7-10 days a week. He said his etransfer doesn't work because he got locked out...wants to send certified cheque....the next one said his debit card was expired?? Either way back to back scammers. It even says so in eldercare.com security section, which I found after. I have since deleted my profile.
Very disappointed with Eldercare. Com! I've been a senior caregiver for several years & I maintain a profile on Care. Com. I'd never heard of Eldercare so I thought I'd give it a try. I set up my profile & paid for one month of premium service. Initially I saw several jobs advertised that were new to me, so I applied. As I looked closer at each ad, they were ALL OVER A MONTH OLD! Needless to say I never heard back from anyone. I think they keep old jobs on the site to appear relevant. It was so frustrating. I changed my search filters to several other locations and found same thing...all the jobs are outdated. I won't be staying for a 2nd month. I'll be canceling my account. It was a total waste of my time & my money.
I have been using eldercare.com for a few years now and it appears to me that a lot of Recruiting Agencies/ Individuals post ads in an effort to build their own portfolios. Some ads are running for very long time and updated periodically.I have only ever had a couple phony reply from non existent persons using the site for their own foolish gains. What would build trust is to have ads removed if positions are filled so that there's no false hope for job seekers. If some are in fact agencies, they should be categorized as such. People monitoring the site should be able to figure out a way to make it user friendly for all, especially when you are serving the most vulnerable in our society.What did I miss?
Unfortunately my experience with Eldercare has been negative. 3 potential matches. We communicated on line organized a time to greet and meet my parents that they would be working with. One came and was set to start work the next day. Then she never showed up for work. The other 2 employees never showed up for interview. All with no call, no text to say they would not be coming. With 3 employees of this site with the same inconsiderate behavior, I will not be continuing search on the site.
I highly recommend Eldercare. They are very helpful, professional and gave clear, precise information. They answered my queries promptly and concisely. They understood my mum's situation and found the best policy to suit her needs. We took out a policy and it has given our family peace of mind.
