My daughter Jessica started with Laurence before Christmas wanting to improve from getting 7s in her English mocks, yesterday she got her results and achieved 2 grade 9s!!! Perfect for my dyslexic son. Worked really well being online. Laurence puts a lot of work into the sessions. From predicted 3s and getting a 4 and a 5 was beyond what we hoped for and in a very short space of time. Only regret was not getting Laurence on board earlier!
We found Laurence via a random Google search, somewhat panicked after our very bright and articulate daughter was told she would expect a 2 in Eng Lit and a 4 in Eng Lang. Having only had supply teachers for a year for English.Our daughter is scientific by nature and needed help with structure, plus confidence having had no real input in English for over a year.Lawrence gave her both and a whole lot more. 12 lessons later she sat her mocks, gaining 5's and yesterday got a 7 and 6 in her GCSE's, which was a great result.His teaching technique was simple enough to adapt to and having the Google docs records post lesson meant she had a reference point for revision for the exams.Thank you Laurence for the belief you had in her and input that made a real difference.
We came to Laurence through my sister, who had used him to successfully help my nephew. Laurence taught my daughter how to better express herself, how to use quotations properly to illustrate her points, how to plan and what sort of things the examiners look for. Laurence’s tutoring has made all the difference for Josh’s results in his GCSE.Josh has been always struggling with reading and writing and last year he was diagnosed with high functioning autism, while he had already been diagnosed with dyslexia in primary school.With specific learning difficulties, no matter the effort he was putting in his English, he couldn’t have succeeded by himself or just with our help.His last English mock in year 10 was a level 2.Laurence’s teaching and guidance have been paramount to Josh’s success.We went from looking at our son struggling to write and to use any structure in his writing, to look at someone able to write and structure an English Language and Literature essay.We went from a 2 to a 5 in one year.We are so proud of Josh and so very grateful to Laurence.
Laurence tutored my son for 10 weeks before he took his GCSE’s. My son got a 3 for English in his year 11 mocks and he got 5 for both English exams in his GCSEs today! Other, more expensive tutors, I approached told me I’d left it too late to make any difference. As a result of Laurence’s tutoring my son is going to the 6th form place he had his heart set on.I urge you to trust in Laurence’s approach, it is unique and it works. He knows exactly where your child is at and what to do to get them to achieve their best in the time he has available. My son enjoyed his sessions and loved that Laurence took an interest in him as a person and his hobbies.Other qualified teacher tutors are much more expensive and dont have this approach which Laurence has to a tee.

We were recommended Laurence,and my daughter started in January 2025, taking her GCSEs in May/June 25.
