I received an "official looking" letter in the mail stating that the previous owner of my property had "secured" a home warranty, and that my "mortgage lenders requirements for my current loan may require a home warranty to stay in place at all times to stay in compliance".
The joke is on Fenix. I bought the property with cash, no loan. The previous owner was my mother-in-law and the building on the property isn't a residence.
I received “Immediate Response Needed” letter that is designed to terrify and bully older people into calling and giving information to purchase unneeded insurance. This practice is abhorrent!! The letter uses language like “This NOTICE is to inform you we have been trying to contact you…about the property’s home owner insurance located at (my address) secured by **CONVENTIONAL HOME LENDER…”. If I weren’t as skeptical as I am, I could have easily been scared into calling. We all know that insurance agents are bullies and do not care about the insured. This company is corrupt.
I received a letter regarding a home warranty that seemed intentionally crafted to deceive homeowners into believing it was a legal obligation tied to their mortgage, implying serious consequences if a policy wasn't secured. The letter also had the appearance of being sent by the lender.
