Review Time
Fisher Investments recently started sending me unsolicited marketing spam. Having never opted into receiving their emails I've clicked unsubscribe only for their confirmation screen to inform me it will take them 30 business days for them to remove me from their list. 6 weeks!! Shoddy stuff!! Certainly not the conduct of a reputable business.
I am struggling to understand some of the poor reviews left by others here on TP. I began my investment journey with Fisher in around 2020 and invested in Feb21 I can only say that looking at some of the dates and comments. these commentors were basing their judgement over relatively short timescales during troubled times globally. We made 20%+ in our 1st year during the global covid pandemic, and then this was followed by Mr Putin`s invasion of Ukraine, and in the UK the short-lived but very economically damaging Truss/Kwateng administration and continuing global conflicts,we`re the other side of that now and Fishers have navigated us to a currently 30%+ upside. Very happy with the service and advice provided.
54yrs old and have been with Fisher for almost 5yrs after 3-4 financial advisors thru the years. Was tired of having advisors ask me what I wanted to do and watching their so called strategy plummet or make no money when markets were going up. Fisher doesn't ask, they manage the money and make the trades. We have more than doubled our investments and yes markets are going up but we are surpassing S&P. They are not day traders, this is a long-game strategy so you have to ride out the occasional dips.As for customer service. The frontline salesperson can be a little exhausting but remember they are not the ones managing your actual accounts and trades. Fisher has a great back office team that will help you with all sorts of scenarios, predictions and reports if you ask. I went to one of their seminars and heard other clients complain after a couple months they weren't making enough. You need to have realistic expectations and trust the process. I am not saying Fisher is perfect but there is no way I would have achieved our current status by myself or with a typical financial advisor. We are on track to retire 5yrs early.
I have received numerous calls from salesman, "Jake," I've been tolerant of his persistent phone calls and indicated numerous times that I am especially busy with other investments currently. But when he began to speak over me, my tolerance level was exceeded. A terrible representative of a company I had previously judged favorably. No longer the case: boiler room tactics by a Millennial selling a product to a 79 y/o. Ugh.
I cannot rate Fisher Investments highly enough. I made the initial contact and eventually following due diligence I sign up with an investment portfolio. This was in November 2022. In the last 18 months my portfolio value has increased by 38.5%, which is over 20% per annum. So obviously no complaints on performance. Our client manager has been very good. I do have other investment portfolios with other investment managers, mainly to diversify a bit, but none have match Fisher’s returns, most at around 12-15% per annum
They contacted me and we had some discussions , but then after reading some of these reviews I made alternate arrangments - I was then called back today by some halfwit in a cheap suit and patronised about my choices (I'm a 30 year commodity and financial markets veteran) and told I made the "wrong call" - well actually you clearly demonstrated by your approach, and the other reviews here, that I made the right choices
I'm not with Ken Fisher. I do want to set the record straight, though. I saw a comment that said Ken "is nothing but a salesman" and knew nothing about investing. That is not even close to the truth. I remember watching Ken on Wall Street Week about fifty years ago!! He was a regular on the panel. He has also written numerous books about investing. With his experience and smarts, he is one of the best known and admired financial analysts around.
In 20 years with the company my Purisma investment has gone up 768%. In the last 2 years about 40%.I have been considering using other advice providers, only as a diversification not to replace Fishers, and looked at trust pilot reviews. They looked awful with many 1 star reviews. I therefore looked at the Fisher reviews and found they were getting awful reviews as well. The theme of the bad reviews seemed to be that they panicked and dumped their shares in a pullback and then blamed their adviser for their own short termism.
