These guys charge a little more (about .3%) because they have tons of their own analysts--one of which, Ricardo, is assigned to me. Even though we have one of their smallest portfolios we receive stellar service, quarterly client dinners, and updates, and they LISTEN to us. We collaborate as a team together, and we've learned a lot. Bottom line, they've returned between + .9% to 1.2% above their competitors for decades.
I was invested with Fishers for 7 years, and to be fair I did OK but not better than the SP500 average. What I did not like is the administrations lack of transparency on fees, it took me 4 months to get the full discloser on how much I was paying. You do not only pay Fishers, you also pay in my Raymond James and Curtis Bank, but you cannot see year by year how much is coming out of your account. I have left Fishers, when I told them I was leaving the dragged out the transfer process continually stalling and trying to change my mind. Fisher have offered and apology but what they say is not true it took 4 months to get a clear written statement of the fee's.
I've had a great experience with Fisher Investments - one hundred percent equities, and they have outperformed the smaller tracker funds I have. It is obvious why, stock selection; they can buy the key drivers of an index and not the chaff. Look at the NASDAQ, with the whole index, it is still down 14%, where as my funds with Fisher are up 8%.
I have been with Fisher for 5 years, and have been extremely happy with how they have managed my portfolio. I am able to connect with my Investment Counselor at any time with questions or concerns. She is smart, experienced and empathetic. I also appreciate their ongoing seminars (both in person and online) to help better educate us as to what Fisher is doing and why. You cannot blame a company for a turbulent stock market. I do believe that they try to get the best return they can for all of their clients.
I did about six months due diligence on Fisher Investments prior to giving them about $800,000. Long story short they never really delivered on being a defensive company and preventing the losses. I had after a year and a half I stop pulling out any money to live off of in order to try to rebuild my base. They do have very high charges and their claim that they only do better when their customer does better is a complete joke as you’re losing money they continue to hit you with extremely high charges on. I returned my investment portfolio to Fidelity whose charges are about half of what Fisher . I’m very pleased now that I am with Fidelity, and I strongly warn you do not go down the Fisher path. You will be very sorry.
terrible company, the premise was that of transparent active management. They turned out to be a non-management that simply follows the market but at much higher than average prices. They are also not transparent in costs at all, there are hidden costs.Advisors change all the time, there is a crazy turnover that makes you realize what kind of company it is
I don’t recommend Fisher investment at all. From Fidelity investment I switch to Fisher investment, within six weeks of managing my portfolio I lost $35K. I decided to switch back to Fidelity and it’s starting to gain back again. And the worst part is that they messaged me that I owed Fisher $900 for mismanaging my portfolio. This is the worst decision I ever made to switching to fisher investment. Don’t listen to their commercial, everything is a lies.
I lost $360,000 during 2021 to Aug 2022. I kept asking and telling them please lets sit on cash wait for the market.. NO THEY SAID. We feel it will increase and come back 10% at the end of 2022.. That never happened. I sold everything and QUIT FISHER
Terrible performance. Completely mis-read the market and didn't react to anything. They make money if you keep your money with them. I put money with them and Fidelity. Fisher sat and did almost no adjusting in my portfolio all of 2021. Needless to say I am significantly down with them. Fidelity worked hard at moving my assets around. Still down but nowhere near Fishers head in the sand approach
