If I could give minus stars I would! So, my wife and I decided to go to Faro for New Years 2026. Booked the flight back in October 2025. London LHR to Faro via Lisbon. Leave the house at 02:30, arrive at the car parking facility 03:30. Get the shuttle bus 04:00am. Flight at 06:00am to Lisbon. Arrive in Lisbon at 08:30ish, walk to Gate S25, to get our connecting flight to Faro. Took 12 minutes give or take. We arrive and take a seat. As there was already a long queue past the boarding card/gate. Sometimes goes past, member of staff goes and brings everyone back to the boarding area. No announcement, no information given why. Eventually I ask what is going on. Flight cancelled. No reason why! So I ask what is TAP Air Portugal doing to get me and my wife to Faro. We get back vague replies. Nothing concrete. So we ask, if we make our way to FARO will TAP refund our costs! Yes was the reply. So we made our way out od the airport hired a car. Eventually made it to Faro. 6 hours later than we should. Missed out on lunch with my two cousins, their dad, my uncle had died 10 days earlier. I ended up missing new years because I had been up for 20 hours. It's now the 7th of February, got a refund for the flight that was cancelled. But I know TAP Air Portugal didn't give us all we were due. I requested a itemised email with what we were refunded. They replied back saying they couldn't do that. Privileged information. Still waiting for the over €300 of expenses plus a compensation to be paid. These guys are 🤡@ honestly do not use TAP Air Portugal! I could go on with more issues but I would be here for too long. Time I will never get back!

Frequent delays, especially when connecting through Lisbon.

Frequent delays are a significant issue, particularly when traveling through Lisbon. The personnel are slow and quite inefficient. I wouldn't recommend using this airline unless you're prepared to potentially miss your connections. I didn't give 1 star because the aircraft fleet isn't the worst I've encountered.

Disappointing Experience with This Airline

I have flown with this airline twice, and both experiences were unfortunate. Due to delays and a series of scheduling issues on their part, my travel time was extended by approximately 10 hours on one trip and 20 hours on the other. This isn’t just ‘bad luck’ — it's a clear sign of operational failures. Additionally, the seats were very uncomfortable, and the overall onboard experience was significantly below modern standards. I will not choose this airline again and highly advise others to consider alternative options if they value reliability and their time.

Severe delay and lost luggage on a direct flight.

The flight was delayed for 6 hours, despite being a direct route, and my luggage was lost. To make matters worse, we were informed that we had to check our bags due to the flight being full and limited overhead bin space. This was my first trip to Europe, and it was quite disappointing. I won't be using this airline again.

Extremely cramped seating experience

I have never encountered such limited leg space on a flight. At 5’9, my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me. Moreover, my connecting flight was delayed and ultimately canceled. They created a new itinerary for the same route, which included an unnecessary refueling stop. This all occurred during one trip. I am genuinely shocked by the quality of service from this airline. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I recommend steering clear of this airline. There were empty seats available, but they wouldn’t allow any movement. Other airlines seem much better in comparison.

Faced issues with the aircraft, leading to a 1.5-hour wait before being transferred to another one. Spent 40 minutes stuck on the bus without a driver, with infants crying and no updates given. Additionally, there were individuals needing water but unable to get any.
