100% beef a d they tasted synthetic chemicals smashed together. I also brought a 6 pack of Linsey ices and they tasted synthetic also. I had to throw the food in the garbage. For now on I WILL be very careful when I buy all my food. I will not buy any more food from food
Iion. If you shop at food lion be careful what you to eat.

Frequent Shopper's Disturbing Experience

I visit this location regularly, about six or seven times a week. Recently, an incident occurred where a man, quite large, confronted me, claiming I was in his way, and then struck me in the face, causing my glasses to fly off. He was shouting insults at me. I reported this to the night manager, who acknowledged that this individual had been problematic before, and I asked for him to be removed. Instead, he insulted her and refused to leave. Eventually, he did exit, but the company took no proactive measures on my behalf. I had to call the police to file a report, which was understandable. The officers came to my home to take the report and then went to the store to request video footage. When I inquired about the footage, the night manager seemed indifferent and stated that the company would provide it to the police once they received approval from their Loss Prevention team. I asked how long that might take, but she had no idea. I also questioned if they knew the man's name, to which she replied no. I suggested that if he used a credit card, they could track him down, but she dismissed that idea. While the police were very kind and sympathetic, the company's response was disappointing. If there were another store nearby, I would choose to shop there. Additionally, many items lacked price tags, and the overall attitude seemed uncaring. Avoid this store if possible.

Frustrating Experience with Product Requests

When I inquired with the manager about how to request products, she directed me to go online. I followed her advice, and a few weeks later, I received a call from her superior expressing appreciation for their customers and stating that she would investigate the possibility of restocking certain items, such as the light soups and fat-free products that had been removed. I was assured that she would follow up with me regarding any issues in getting these products back. However, I never heard from her again, and none of the items have been restocked. Clearly, based on other reviews, they seem indifferent to customer needs. I will be shopping elsewhere to find the products I need without having to visit multiple stores.

Stores that use Instacart to fulfill delivery orders have started assuming the position that once they load your groceries in the delivery driver's vehicle. They are no longer responsible. The driver who picked up my $350 order AND another $200 order in a Honda accord. Tried to deliver me the other guys order. Then left to go back and get my order from Food Lion.

But he immediately marked the order as COMPLETE as he drove away. An hour later I still haven't heard anything. Call FoodLion and they can't locate the driver and the other customer ALSO never received their order. At 5:30pm the food lion store finally calls FOOD LION CORPORATE customer service who is then supposed to call INSTACART and track down the driver. Then they'll call me and figure out how to proceed.

Well, it's over 3 hours late at this point and you still can't find the driver. Refill the order and have another driver deliver it. Seems pretty simple right? But FoodLion basically washed their hands of it. After dealing with them for decades in many places. They've let Instacart destroy their brand.

Nobody should trust a company that tells you it's THE CUSTOMER'S FAULT AND RESPONSIBILITY because FOOD LION doesn't employ the drivers. So if Amazon decided to use a third party to deliver your xmas gifts. And the third party driver just disappears with your entire Xmas. FoodLion is saying it's no longer the retailer (you purchase at FoodLion.com or the food lion Togo app..NOT INSTACART). But they feel like it's not their responsibility at all when their 3rd party partner. Not someone we have a choice about. But here I am. A recent amputee who can't eat dinner tonight or breakfast in the morning. Because they refuse to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX IT. NOW, NOT WHEN IT'S CONVENIENT FOR YOUR PARTNER!!!

Caution! Terrible Customer Service!

Stores utilizing a delivery service have started to assume no responsibility once groceries are loaded into the driver's vehicle. The driver picked up my order worth $350 along with another $200 order but attempted to deliver the wrong one first. He then left to retrieve my order but marked it as COMPLETE before even returning. An hour passed without any updates. When I called the store, they couldn't locate the driver, and the other customer also didn't receive their order. Eventually, the store contacted corporate to track down the driver, but after three hours, they still couldn't find him. It seems simple to refill the order and send another driver, but the store has essentially washed their hands of the situation. After many years of consistent patronage, it's disappointing to see the service deteriorate due to their partnership with this delivery service. They blame the customer instead, leaving those in need, like me, without dinner or breakfast due to their refusal to take responsibility.

Positive Changes with New Management

At the store located on Jefferson Davis Hwy, there seems to be a shift in management, and it’s evident. The store is much cleaner, and the quality of employees has significantly improved. The new manager is professional, well-dressed, and treats customers with respect. This positive change prompted me to give the store another chance. It's crucial for employees, from stockers to management, to recognize their importance as a team and as individuals. Their roles contribute to the store’s success and the well-being of the community. I hope they continue to perform their duties with pride and dignity, which I’m now witnessing. Wishing the new manager and staff all the best.

I visited the store on November 3, 2025, and the cashier at checkout was exceptional. It was delightful to chat with them, and they made me feel valued during my visit. I was at Register 001, and the cashier truly stood out.

Disappointing Experience with Products

The store in Goose Creek is disappointing. I purchased five packs of cigars, and they were old and stale. When I tried to return or exchange them, I was told that exchanges or refunds were not allowed, and this policy was not clearly stated anywhere. I won’t be returning to this store.

Frustrating Duplicate Charge Issue

At the store on Westwood Lane in Wilkesboro, NC, I experienced a frustrating issue. After spending $209 on October 18, 2025, I noticed a duplicate charge on my debit card the next day. My wife reached out to the store and spoke with the manager, who advised her to contact the bank instead of addressing the issue directly. His response was unprofessional, and he refused to provide his name before hanging up. Although the charge was eventually credited, the manager’s lack of respect for a loyal customer was unacceptable.
