This company is beyond horrible!! Having to pay a 250 as a deposit to have service I can understand but doesn't have to be high, and if you move you have to pay another deposit and can't have your first deposit back or transfer any of the old deposit to the new deposit. There needs to be more electric companies in Florida it's a shame since fpl is the only power company here they can do whatever they want since there the only company around. If you get a chance to a human there which is extremely rare they could careless about anything your saying, ask them a question that they should know the answer to but nope " I don't know the answer to your question" seriously you work there!! They steal as much money from you as they possibly can. This company needs to be ran into the ground. Never have I ever experienced such ignorance with a company as a whole. I hate this company with a passion!!!
FPL says they'll restore power within 4 hours payment was received; however, they sure do receive payment a lot slower than it leaves my bank account. It apparently takes FPL 20 hours to receive payment and then 4 hours from that 20 hours... Yeah. Also, good luck setting up automatic payment with FPL lol I actually set up automatic payment every single time I make a payment... These people just have no respect for automatic payment & so just mark it down in your calendars when to pay because if you have faith that these people are gonna respect automatic payment then you'll just end up throwing everything out in your fridge and good luck if it's summer time and you have dogs are human babies.... FPL is joke... Simple as that.
Horrible customer service. Their easy pay service is unreal. They sent my bill to the wrong number at the bank and then charged me a late fee of $30.00. It took me all of 2 days to finally get a human on the phone. She was cold and very uncaring and unknowledgeable. Her name was Michelle and when I asked to speak to a manager she said she was the supervisor. I wouldn’t even give any stars at all if possible!😝
Worst Company. Have you ever seen a COMPANY not WORK to TAKE PAYMENTS? <- Right here is one! Crazy right?In fact, for 10 months, I have tried to get them to correctly set up my banking and/or credit card info. Whatever they want. I have NO problems with any of my OTHER Utility companies. ONLY FPL. Spectrum, Toho, KUA, etc....NO problems.I feel like a thirsty person in the middle of the desert...begging for water. (Here...take the money). :)They just won't do it....and keep me in suspension. So...after 10 months of this, I decide to drive to their offices. THERE ARE NONE! In fact, they have "stations" where they refer to them as "offices." What they do have....is a "call center" in Miami. The SAME CALL CENTER who won't correct my account.Good Grief!
In what was thankfully my last interaction with FPL due to moving out of state. I was hit with a $2600 bill, which was accrued due to issues with their own meters being unable to read my electricity usage. For months ahead of the move, I attempted to get a better idea of how to extend the payment deadline due to the large sum of money. I received different answers, the best of which was "we'll just have to wait and see." Upon receiving my final bill, I was given 3 weeks to pay the amount in full. I managed to receive a slightly better extension (one more week) after navigating a familiar process - trying to reach a representative after being repeatedly told that speaking with a human was not an option by their unhelpful automated answer system.As a resident of Florida for more than 30 years, this was representative of FPL's modus operandi: extract as much money from your customers as possible, offer substandard service, deny accountability, and use your own failures to extract a bit more. Thankfully for FPL, which is effectively a state monopoly, the options for Floridians include dealing with it or moving to another state.
Well we never got our bill in the mail and every time we went to the FPL website to see how much our bill was and pay it it kept saying wrong account number so without a shut off notice they shut our electric off at 1:30 my fiancé called me right away and I had to call and pay with her card over the phone and get charged another 3 dollars that was at 2:30 and they never came back out to reconnect it and it is now 98 degrees in my house. I called and they said they had 24 hours to come and hook it back up. So now we sit here waiting all night because we can't sleep its to hot. And I bet those A-holes don't show up till 10am tomorrow. If we are lucky. How can a business with a 1.4 rating keep its business going Did I mention my fiancé is handy capped and can't be stressed or she will have seizures well she has had 2 tonight already.
We make our payments on time every month but their people cannot figure out how to keep track of our account. There is a ridiculous snafu every couple of months with our bill.And my husband keeps trying to call to clarify that we are paid up, but he keeps getting disconnected while on hold. FPL - fix your systems!!!PS- several years ago their survey crew punched a hole in our irrigation system. We called and got nowhere with them.
Absolutely horrible power company that promotes and supports squatters if they move in they will turn the power on for them with no rental agreements or anything they are evil and the people that they employ are as bad as the socialist company they work for
Same 68 customers lose power on a daily basis. This has been going on for the past 20 years and FPL can't seem to fix it. They said they made upgrades recently but the problem is worse. We lose power 2 to 7 times a day. My wine cooker and microwave have been replaced 3 times due to this. FPL won't take responsibility for them causing this. They are the worst and they keep asking for price increases.
