If i could leave a zero rating i would, hired FR8STAR to move a cement silo and they told me they could, sent truck to get it and trucker said to tall, had to pay an additional $208.00 for dry run. Truck driver said has to be towed, Hugo the sales rep whom i was dealing with said he could get it done, just needed a few extra days, got back to me and said it would cost approx. $2700.00 more on top of the ORIGINAL 2800.00 for the first bid, to tow it. i told him i would find someone else and to refund my money they said they would not give back my money , this is why i am writing this review to WARN everybody do not trust or use FR8STR as they are dishonest bunch of thieves.
This brokerage subbed this load to another brokerage which gave the load to to a dishonest trucking company that took advantage of everything they could to get more money than was negotiated for this load. I do not recommend using these people ever!
I needed a shipping container moved from one location to another. Since the locations were both very remote, I punched in the closest cities that their online order form would allow me to punch in, but I let them know immediately that I would have to give them exact coordinates because there is no street address. I was then given a price, which I agreed to. I then emailed the exact coordinates to the rep, 4 weeks prior to delivery. Less than 24 hours before delivery, the rep told me it was more miles than he realized, so he was going to charge me extra. LESS. THAN. 24. HOURS. He literally had my coordinates the whole time, so why hadn't he looked them up 4 weeks ago? I reached out to two managers because obviously I was just dealing with a bad employee. But no, it turns out it's a bad company. One manager didn’t answer me at all. The second refused to admit his employee had made a mistake, and then refused to escalate my complaint when I requested to speak his superior. Do not work with these people. Fr8Star.com was my original point of contact, and they passed my order on to Fr8Specialist LLC. They make it very confusing to know who you are really dealing with, but do NOT work with either company. Just do what I should have done in the first place: Google “local transportation companies near me” and search within a 2 hour radius. You’ll save yourself hundreds of dollars by cutting out the incompetent, greedy, middle man.
First time i used them flawless..second time not so much, got screwed out of over 500$ because someone canceled, so was forced to eat that and start anew.Next person i used, jacked up the price over $1200 from original quote screwing me but was forced to pay or else lose more deposit.YOu think you are protected by fr8star, but they dont care or are powerless to help you, when the entire reason i used fr8star was to feel protected.just be wary, fr8star does NOT have your back.
Called them left a deposit based on a promise of a shipper provided within 24 hours.Clearly did not happen, called multiple times with no answer or returned phone call.It’s now 5days later and still no response, sadly it appears to be scam business.Apparently the deposit is all they wanted then they just disappeared, had to report my card lost and get issued a new one to avoid them having my card info.Do not waste your time with them.
They put my tractor on a box truck !How was I suppose to unload it ?If I wouldn’t have had a hill, there would have been no way to unload it !Terrible communication ! They said they called, but never left a voicemail. I will not use again !
Useless money grubbing company. Both FR8STAR and the broker that FR8STAR referred the shipping job to took too much of my money. The actual trucking company got only 60% of my money. Joe at FR8STAR did nothing but harass me saying he had truckers ready to take my load. He took a big chunk of my money and CHARGED ME an additional 3% processing fee without telling me by using PayPal credit card processing. Then, the Brock agent would not even start looking for a trucker until my check to Brock had cleared. This FR8STAR system sucks and robs the trucking company of money that should pay the driver. Next time, I'll use UShip and know how much UShip is taking and how much the trucker is getting.
Worst experience with a shipping company. Staff and management not helpful. I paid deposit on load and company refused to refund deposit on load they did not haul. FR8Star was no help and refused to assist with assisting with my refund. Company posted dimensions of load from auction on equipment that I purchased out of state, sight unseen. The dimensions FR8Star posted were incorrect and FR8Star expected me to validate the dimensions on equipment that was purchased at auction. website does not clearly state this and they kept my deposit and management refused to assist in refunding a deposit for a load that was not hauled by FR8Star. poor customer service!
