I will never ever book with Sunsail as the put us at risk with a boat that should have never been leased to anyone. Half our trip was wasted waiting on maintenance to come address all the issues. We had to listen to the generator running for hours.
Batteries had to be fixed and then fully replaced

Broken toilet valve
Broken shower drain valve
Broken gas gauge
No A/C
The most dangerous position we were in was they sent us out in high swells with a broken gas gauge. What if we had run out of gas and needed to motor out of danger. Sunsail knowingly put us at risk
Pros: The boat was affordable and featured many great amenities. Cons: We had to spend an extra night at the marina to fix several broken items and faced two additional breakdowns during the week, waiting hours for help. There were also roaches on the boat. The service only offered a percentage voucher for a future trip, which is unappealing after this experience.
Chartering can be an expensive endeavor, and we lost valuable time through no fault of our own. We waited hours for an electronic chip for the Chart Plotter and for a service technician to address our Air Conditioning issue, which could have been avoided with prior guidance. The water tank was not full, and we received last-minute notice that the grill was not operational, leaving us unable to grill. Important boat information should be provided inside each boat to save time. Other issues included loose toilet seats, no light in the cockpit, a missing propane tank strap, and a malfunctioning boat speed indicator. Overall, we enjoyed our chartering experience, but the noted deficiencies could have been prevented.

This was my eighth charter with the company in the last decade. I have used various types of boats. The base is great, the boats are excellent, and the sailing area is easy to navigate, yet challenging enough for skill testing. The booking agents and base staff have consistently been welcoming and helpful.
We returned to Phuket for our third bareboat charter and once again had a fantastic experience! There’s always something new to explore in the sailing areas around Phuket, with great food, culture, and stunning views. Our experience at the company was seamless and enjoyable. The staff were exceptional in preparing us for our arrival and departure. The boat briefing and chart review were very helpful, even for our third visit. Returning the boat was quick and easy, leaving us with great memories! We will certainly return!
